Nami was suddenly woken from her sleep hearing the sound of the waves against the hull and a howling wind. The ship was rocking deeply in the unsettled waters around them. She glanced at the clock that hung on the wall and through the darkness she found it was just after midnight. The room was chilled and although she dreaded leaving the comfort of her warm sheets she was worried about the sounds from outside.
Nami stepped into her slippers and reached for her robe in the dark, pulling it tightly around her body. She moved across the room to the door, quickly realizing the porthole was frosted over. When they went to bed earlier that night it was cold but she never expected this kind of temperature. Her hand heated the window as she wiped away the ice that had clung to the glass. There was a layer of snow on the deck and the falling snow was relentless. The winds whipped across the deck, creating large drifts against the railings. She wasn't too concerned, despite the scary sight. She couldn't sense much danger to them from this snowstorm. She was simply glad to be inside.
It was at that moment she caught a very small glimmer of light. She had to squint into the frozen darkness to keep track of it in the unyielding snowfall. It was so faint and she was sure it had disappeared and reappeared several times over those few moments. It wasn't until she heard the muffled swearing that she realized it was a lighter. Sanji-kun... Night watch...
Nami pushed the door open, irritated that she had to tell him to get inside. Why the hell was he still out in this weather?! No one is going to storm the ship in a blizzard! "Sanji!" She shouted. Her voice was muffled in the roaring wind. Nami was agitated by the cold and groaned loudly as she shut the door behind her and wandered onto the deck in her robe. She must have been insane too! Why didn't she just leave him out there to freeze to death?!
As she approached the cook her body was shivering as she wrapped her arms around herself tightly. "SANJI-KUN!" She yelled at him where he sat, slumped and bundled against the base of the mast.
"N-N-Nami-S-s-sw..." He stuttered up at her. She didn't let him finish before she yelled at him again.
"Get inside!" Nami scolded. "Kitchen... Now!" She waited no longer outside and made a beeline for the galley.
Finally out of the cold she shook of the snow and waited for Sanji to enter. Seconds later, the cook followed in toe, shutting out the cold behind them. Nami looked him over and sighed. It was hard to be angry at him. His face was wind burnt and his hair was matted with snow. He was shaking from head to toe as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Not a word Sanji..." She gestured him to sit in a chair as she turned on the burner under the tea kettle. Normally she wouldn't dream of touching his things in the kitchen without permission but he would have to forgive her. With the water heating up Nami handed him a hand towel for his face and hair. The snow was beginning to melt and drip onto the table. "You are going to get sick... You shouldn't have stayed out there."
"I w-wanted to make s-sure you and R-Robin-chan were safe." Sanji dabbed at his skin and hair.
She sighed again. His heart was in the right place. "Yeah yeah... But maybe you should worry about you own safety sometimes..."
A dreamy look appeared on his face as he swooned. "Nami-swan was w-worried about me~"
She rolled her eyes and prepared a cup for him and herself as the kettle began to whistle.
"N-nami-Swan must have fallen in l-love with me~" She set down the cup in front of him.
"Don't push it or I might kick you back out there..."
"H-Hai! Nami-S-San~"
