//It's me again ppls. Now I know this isn't slash, and that's rare for
me.I'm not going to let you ppls know who Squall is gonna get with, but if
I ever get around to it you'll guess easily enough//
(A/N: Squall was dispersed into another world...again.I suppose it's a sequel to Kingdom Hearts although I doubt it will have anything to do with Kingdom Hearts 2)
The young man took a keen observance of his surroundings. Alone, it seemed, again. Would it ever end?
Walking wearily forwards he noticed nothing but shadows and darkness. A regular holiday.
The street lie bare with glistening cobblestones. Water streamed down the sloping streets, collecting in gutter sewer-drains. A few buildings lay a silhouette in front of the waning moon. A few street lights were flickering; struggling not to go out.
A few leaves rustled being carried swiftly by the cool night breeze. The man's hair swayed with the wind, as well as masking his face. his scar.
Smelling a faint scent of fresh salt air, he decided to look for its source. The water always helped to calm him down. Going to the sea felt so peaceful. It was like going home, not a possession home, but where he felt he truly belonged.
His boots clicked on the cobblestone as each heel fell, echoing in the distance. Still he looked around. Yet this new place he had been scattered to looked as if it had no residence at all. Either that or they were entirely fast asleep. More likely the latter, he thought. He did not want to imagine otherwise.
His chosen path was down a small flight of steps lit with lamp posts. The path brought him where he wanted to be. A small dock aligned with more lamp posts revealed several small fishing boats. The boardwalk seemed to go on quite far, so he decided to see where it would lead him. Several more footsteps he paced, until he stopped abruptly, interrupted by a quiet sound. He stood, and listened carefully. Did he just hear a cat meowing? A few moments later, no sound reoccurred. Perhaps he had been imagining things. Another meow. Leon stopped again.
"Come on, kitty," he whispered to no one in particular. "Come on."
Suddenly, a girl ran out from behind a stock shed that he had failed to notice earlier. Her hair was definably blonde in the lamplight and her clothing seemed a bit strange.but nothing out of the ordinary.
Leon watched her with curious eyes.
"Hey!" The girl called out. "Hey, Mister! You haven't seen a cat run by here have you?" Leon shook his head. "I thought I may have heard one though. Over there by those boats perhaps." He raised his hand in the direction from whence he came.
"Thanks, Mister!" Before he was able to stop and ask questions, the girl was gone.
Leon kicked at a rock angrily and continued down the boardwalk, hands in his pockets. Finally he came to the end of the boardwalk. He sat on its edge, and gazed off into the gentle rolling waves. There he lost himself, somewhere in the gulf, as the water clashed off the banks of nearby cliffs. Where was Rinoa? He had been asking himself for so long. But it seemed as if there would never be any hope of finding her. The memory filled him with pain and deep sadness. The scent of her hair.the feel of her face.the warmth of her tears...Never again. Not in this life.
/I plan to work on it some more.eventually.hopefully sooner then later. I still have a Signs fic to attend to.but as always.more reviews, less waiting time.I think./
