My Fallen Immortal
Ch.1
My bare feet kept moving in the direction of his bedchamber without my brain giving them any direction of which way to turn through this ancient, mysterious castle he liked to call his home. This was a path they were familiar with. I looked at the stone rugged floor with depression in my eyes. I had no idea what I was doing anymore. If you've ever known what it is like to live with heartache, then you know what it is to live as me without my Kalona. But if you've ever known what it is to live with pain, then you know how I feel when I think about Heath...
Either way, I was done resisting this fallen angel of mine. I walked firmly into our room, head held high, and was caught speechless again at the sight of his perfect appearance. Eyes black onyx, skin a soft brown, and arms open and welcoming. His ebony wings stretched the length of the king size bed he lay on, and his eyes smiled along with his godlike lips. The most beautiful dark angel in the world, and he wanted me.
It was enough to make me feel faint. To avoid that risk, I climbed into bed with him and lay my head on his chest, dreamily enjoying the old Cherokee lullaby he whispered along the shadows. Finally, it was time for talking.
"You seemed so sure of the choice I would make." I told Kalona.
"Of course my A-ya. You will always be mine."
"You're right, and you were right about..Heath. It's better for me this way."
"Do not think I do not know you miss him," Kalona roared. "But there will be no more running around with that human. You have made your choice. You are mine."
"You're right, and I did decide. He is my past. You are my tonight, tomorrow, and forever."
Kalona's look of pure joy at my words ripped through my clothes at the same time as my heart. The heat of his kiss filled my entire body and quite possibly my soul as we lied together for the night. The passion that overtook us was almost unbearable, and after, I drifted into a peaceful sleep of love and feathers. When I woke the next morning, Heath was a distant memory, as was my human life.
