Hi Everyone, here's my newest Fanfic, Lost in the Amazon.

Yes, the title says it all. Serena and Darien are going to get lost in the Amazon Jungle.

This is going to be fun. I've been reading up on survival skills and techniques, and I'd be reading something and a scene would just pop into my head of how the two would accomplish the survival technique, so I just had to write this one.

I'm a little blocked with Mafia's Legacy at the moment but Chapter 1 of Heart's Sight should be posted soon. I'm going to give this writing more than 1 Fic at a time another go.

Note: I have been researching Colombia and the conflicts there but to tell you the truth the more I read the more confused I become, so I have come to the conclusion that I know nothing about Colombia, the drug cartels or conflict, so I would like to remind everyone that this is Fiction and I will do my best not to offend or go outside the realm of the plausible.

Lost in the Amazon

The damsel in distress is such a cliché and out-dated notion, but that is exactly what Serena has become. Her mother has gone missing in Colombia. Renewed conflict has ignited in the region. Serena is alone and armed guerrillas after her. But Serena's troubles have only just begun. Stranded in the middle of the Colombian Amazon jungle, Serena's chances of survival rest on the arrogant but surprisingly skilled Darien Shields, who has his own reasons for risking Colombia's perils. But is Darien her only chance of survival or is he something else, something much more dangerous?

Pre-Prologue

Radio news broadcast airing throughout South West Columbia.

2:19am Local Time.

"It is not yet known what has triggered this renewed wave of conflict by local outlawed paramilitary forces in what has come to be known by those outside of Columbia as the Colombian Armed Conflict. A conflict that has been raging for decades, but what is known is that this latest outbreak of conflict is centred mostly around the Valle del Caucaprovinces capital city Cali. A city which is notorious for itspowerful and violent drug cartelsthat reigned late in the last century.

Although the fighting has not yet entered the city limits, locals and officials fear that it will only be a matter of hours, a day at the most, before the conflict enters the city streets of Cali, putting untold numbers of innocent civilians in harms way.

Government Military forces have been mobilized in Cali but it is unknown how long it will take for the Columbian military to drive out the forces of the outlawed well-armed paramilitary group.

It is being strongly urged by the Columbian President that all tourists and foreign visitors should evacuate the area as quickly and as safely as possible for their own safety. Especially those from the U.S, Great Britain and all Western Allied Nations.

It is common for these paramilitary forces to frequently kidnap and ransom foreign visitors as a means of gaining funding for their campaign. It is also common practice to demonstrate their resolve and their power by publically executing U.S and British citizens.

So please, for your own safety all persons of the western world should evacuate the area soon as possible . . ."
