A/N: Okay so this is a little story about how if Edward and Bella met as children along with the rest of the gang. I love these types of stories so I decided to do one of my own since I think the idea is adorable! (BTW I'm currently doing an edit on this story, so if it seems a little wonky don't fret I'm just fixing stuff up). I hope you enjoy!

Will you be my Friend?
(Bella's POV AGE 5)
"Okay kids, are you ready for your first day?" Mommy asked us as we pulled up to the elementary school. It was one story brick building with a bright green lawn and a lot of rose bushes around it. The school was nothing like the schools back home where everything consisted of desert rock, cactus, and sand.
"Yes, Mommy," my brother and I answered confidently. But, truth is, I wanted to pee myself.
My name is Isabella Marie Swan, but I like Bella. I am five years old and I just moved to Forks with my family from Phoenix.
Mommy didn't want to move here, but Daddy did because of the job opportunity. He is Fork's new police chief while my mommy got a job as a teacher for preschoolers. Daddy's from Forks and loves the idea of raising us here while Mommy isn't too on board with the idea. She hates the cold, wet weather, as do I. I wish I was in Phoenix still. I miss all my friends and I miss the warm weather. Plus ever since we moved here my parents have been fighting a lot more lately. I guess you can say I got used to it. It's what I have to listen to when I fall asleep and when I wake up. When Daddy steps in the doorway the fighting begins. I normally sneak to my brother's room and sleep with him, or he comes to my room and sleeps on my floor.
I took a deep breath as I then stepped out of the car with my elder brother, Emmett. Emmett is six years old and he's a very goofy child. He loves getting into trouble and playing pranks on me. However, I just play pranks right back at him. No offense to him, but I'm smarter so I always out smart him. Despite that, he's a good brother and is always there to have my back.
As we got out of the car, I took mommy's hand and stuck my thumb in my mouth. I was really nervous while Emmett was jumping all over the place. Mommy would be bringing me to my class while Emmett would go by himself like a big boy. Emmett was in the upper grade, which sucks for me because I won't know anyone. I'm shy as anything and if I make a friend today it'll be a miracle.
"Hi Didyme, nice to see you again," Mommy said when we entered. I think she knows my teacher from high school probably.
"Renee! As you!" the teacher said as she approached us. "And this must be your daughter?"
"Yes, this is Isabella. She's in your class," Mommy replied happily, holding me by the shoulders. I felt myself blush as I leaned against my mother's legs.
"Hello Isabella, I'm Mrs. Andrews. I'll be your teacher this year," she said, kneeling down so she could say hello to me. She seemed like a nice lady with long raven black hair and big green eyes. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was that she called me Isabella.
"Bella," I corrected her softly.
"Alright then, Bella," Mrs. Andrews said before turning to look back at my mother. "I promise Renee, she'll be in the best of hands."
"Okay, good," Mommy said. She then kneeled down to my level, smiling as bright as she could. "You'll have fun. I promise baby, okay? I'll be here at the end of the day to pick you up. Have a fun first day. Love you."
"I love you too, Mommy," I replied as her lips brushed against my forehead.
I was then left alone in the room with Mrs. Andrews and the rest of her class, who were all starring at me now. I felt my cheeks turn bright red as I looked at them.
"Class this is our new student– Bella. She just moved here from Arizona," Mrs. Andrews announced to everyone, causing me to turn even more red. "Bella, why don't you take a seat next to Alice over there." My new teacher then pointed to a little girl who gave me a toothy grin. She almost looked like a pixie about to burst of excitement. She had short black hair and brown eyes. This girl, Alice, was also dressed in a purple dress with white polka-dots. I looked simple in comparison with my jean jumper, white shirt, and mary-janes.
"Hi, Bella! I'm Alice! I know we are going to be such great friends!" she chirped giving me a tight hug. I blushed immediately, feeling extremely embarrassed. She was really friendly, but I was far from this. I noticed over my should that two girls began to snicker.
"Oh ignore them. That's Jessica and Lauren. They are really big meanies and think they are better than everyone," Alice explained, noticing I was looking at the two girls.
I nodded as they snickered at me some more. One thing's for sure, I don't want to be friends with them. Not even five minutes later they tripped a nice girl, Angela Webber, and she fell into a boy's block tower.
Someone did catch my eye right away though as I observed the class. He has the strangest colored hair. It looks almost copper or maybe a bronze. It's a beautiful bronze color.
"Oh that's my brother, Edward. You can meet him if you sit with me and my friends at lunch," Alice said, noticing that I was looking at the boy.
"Okay," I answered shyly. My gaze still didn't leave the boy. He was still coloring until he lifted his head up so we were making eye contact now. His eyes were the color of my mother's favorite pair of emerald earrings. They even sparkled like them too.
When he saw me he gave me a small smile. I just blushed and timidly smile at him.
After a class filled with coloring and reading, it was time for lunch. When we got there I looked for Emmett or even Alice to sit with in the bustling cafeteria. I felt so small surrounded by all these kids, even though this had to be a much smaller elementary school than my last one.
"Bella! Sit over here!" Alice yelled form a lunch table. I looked to see my brother was there also.
"Bellsy! Ov'a here!" Emmett called out, standing up. I smiled as I then scurried over to him.
When I got there my brother was talking to a new boy with golden blonde hair and bright blue eyes. There was another girl who must be his sister because they looked very similar in features with the same golden hair and blue eyes.
"Bella, this is Jazzy and his twin, Rosie," Alice said, motioning to the two blonde children. "They are in our grade as well, but in a different class. They have Mrs. Johnson." Jasper gave me a wave in response while Rosalie just shrugged me off. I was kind of hurt by her actions, am I really that bad?
"Hold up! You're twins?" Emmett questioned incredulously, gaining a glare from Rosalie.
"Duh! Why do you think we look very much alike weenie?" Rosalie remarked in a very snarky manner.
"Sorry! Jeeze, woman," Emmett said, shaking his head. "Anyway, if you're wondering why I look so much like the new girl, it's because Bella is also my little sister. Right, Bellsy?" Emmett then wrapped his arm around me and I could feel myself overheating.
"Yep. He's my brother," I squeaked.
"Oh! That's so cool!" Jasper smiled. "Well, it is nice to meet ya, Bella."
"Nice to meet you too," I said, waving back at him. Once again, Rosalie didn't say anything and just paid attention to her lunch instead.
"Oh Bella this is my brother, Eddie. As you know he's in our class," Alice declared as I took a seat across from the bronze haired boy.
"I don't like Eddie," he snapped, scowling at his sister.
"Fine Edward...this is Bella," Alice corrected herself while making sure to stick her tongue out at Edward. He just merely rolled his eyes before looking towards my direction.
"Are you twins too?" Emmett asked the Cullen siblings before Edward could speak a word to me. Despite not getting a personal introduction to Edward, I was sort of wondering that question as well.
"No, I'm adopted and so is Edward," Alice explained lightly. Edward seemed a little uneasy about the subject, but I didn't judge.
"Where are you guys from?" Jasper asked, changing the subject as he looked at Emmett and I politely.
"Phoenix, Arizona. It's far away form here," I explained. "We came here cause our daddy got a job as the sherif."
"Oh so you're the Swan kids then!" Alice exclaimed happily. "You live right next door to Edward and I!"
"Oh my gosh! You're the two kids that live in that big house!?" Emmett replied incredulously.
"Yeah and the Hales live right next door to us on the other side," Alice added. "Ooo this is so exciting! We can have so many playdates together!"
We all then got into a good conversation. Emmett was his normal goofy self and made everyone laugh when he played with his food. Rosalie seemed to warm up a bit and she didn't seem that bad anymore. She just seems like a tough cookie. Jasper is really nice and so is Alice. She is like tinker bell and always makes you smile. As for Edward, I wasn't sure about him. He was quiet, but when he spoke it was always thoughtful or funny. I didn't know if he liked me yet or not, and for some reason part of me really wanted to know if he did.
Soon lunch would pass and it was then time for recess. Emmett would go with Jasper to play kickball while I went with Alice and Rosalie to play tag. Alice told me she is going to meet me by the big yellow slide once she and Rosalie go find Edward to see if he wanted to play tag with us.
I was making my way over to the slide when someone tripped me, causing me to I fall flat on my face. I didn't cry because I've made a fallen multiple times before, but it still hurt.
"Oops, oh look the new girl," a nasal voice sneered. I get up to see the two girls from before starring down at me. They're the same mean girls from my class– Lauren and Jessica.
"She's the one who has been talking to Eddie, well get this straight girly he's mine," Lauren growled, inching closer to me.
"He doesn't like to be called Eddie," I pointed out bluntly, but she didn't care as she then goes to push me down again.
"Just watch it," Lauren snapped."He's mine!"
"Lauren! Leave Bella alone," I heard a new voice say. I looked up to see Edward coming over. He was about to go face to face with Lauren. "She never did anything wrong to you so go away!"
"Eddie! I was just messing around, you know?" Lauren said trying to cover it up as her face turned a bright scarlet, brighter than mine has ever been. Edward still frowned as he went to help me up.
"Just leave her alone and next time you bother her you have to deal with me...Or most likely Alice," Edward said sternly. Lauren just nodded before running away with Jessica.
"Thanks." I blushed, looking shyly up at Edward. I noticed a smile appear on his face.
"No problem," he told me. "Anyway, I didn't properly introduce myself before, I'm Edward Cullen." He proceeded to stick out a hand towards my direction.
"I'm Isabella Swan," I told him, my voice suddenly a lot more confident. "But, I like Bella."
Edward smiled at that before looking at me shyly. "Bella, do you want to be friends?"
"I would love that," I told him excitedly. The two of us then held hands as we ran away to find Alice and Rosalie to play tag. It would be on that day Edward Cullen became my best friend and the day I would start to get to know my forever family...
