A/N: Hey everyone! This is my very first drabble, based off of a picture i have drawn for a friend3 of mine! My friend is just like Uchiha, so everyone calls her Sasuke, and everyone calls me Kirby (b/c it has basically become my name... ^^). I hope you enjoy it~!
Disclaimer: I do not own Sasuke... Masashi Kishimoto does.. If i owned Sasuke, i would be one very happy person ^^. Also, i don't own Kirby, the little pink ball that'll eat anything. Or the name. But the name is mine~ xD (if that makes any sense lol)
Up on his shelf, he had a plushie.
Yes, the infamous Sasuke Uchiha had a plushie; and a pink one at that.
Nobody else knows about it, no one at all. Not that anyone would because he never lets anyone into his home, much less his bedroom. But, as it seems, none of his fan-girls even know it exists, what with their spastic break-ins from ages ago.
The plushie was old, but it went untouched by dust. He took great care of it, although he never plays with it or anything- he would hate for dust to ever lay on something so treasured.
It's a prized memory from his childhood, and one of the only memories that he ever allows himself to revisit time and time again.
Sasuke feared that if he ever let the child's toy get dusty, so would his memory. He knew it was silly and illogical, but he couldn't help himself. To lose this memory, to forget it, would be to lose an already fractured piece of himself.
The small, stuffed pink toy had been a gift from a friend. Kami, it had been so very long since the lone Uchiha had seen her. They had been the best of friends, practically inseparable.
Gazing at the plushie, Sasuke could hear her voice in his head. "Sasu-chan!" she would call him, in her forever-cheery voice. He would always groan and tell her that it was girly and to stop calling him it, but she would continue to call him it "it's cute, just like you!" Secretly, he was glad that she never stopped using that name.
Sasuke couldn't figure out for the life of him why she gave him the plushie when they were little, but eventually he figured it out. He didn't think she really knew herself why she was giving it to him, but some little voice in her head had told her to do it for good reasons.
"Sasu-chan! Guess what!"
"Ugh, Kirby! Stop calling me that!"
"Never! It's so cute and perfect for you! Now, guess what!"
"What?"
"I have a present for you!"
The young girl pulled the small pink object from behind her back that she had been trying to hide from her best friend, and held it right in front of his face.
He had taken it from her, and asked what it was. "It's a Kirby plushie!" she had responded; "now you can carry a little me with you where ever you go!"
Sasuke looked away from the pink doll and up into the blue sky outside his window. Now that he was older, he realized that the doll was her way of making sure that no matter what, he would never forget her.
"Not that anyone could ever forget someone like you…" he whispered, hopping out of his window into a tree. Looking out across the village from the tree, Sasuke let himself smile.
"I miss you, Kirby…and I promise to never forget you."
"I miss you, Sasu-chan!"
