Got a picture of you I carry in my heart

Close my eyes to see it when the world gets dark.

Duo turned over in bed for the hundredth time that night.

"Why can't I quit thinking about Heero," Duo said silently cursing himself. With a sigh Duo got out of bed and went to the window and looked at the sky.

'It's been 1 year since the war ended and still no word from Heero....' Duo thought sadly

"I wonder what Heero has been doin these days...."

Got a memory of you I carry in my soul

I wrap it close around me when the nights get cold

Heero was sitting at his desk in the Preventers office lost in his thoughts.

"Sometimes I wish that braided baka was here to keep me company, it's so lonely around here," Heero said to himself smiling at the thought of his braided friend.

If you asked me how I'm doin' I'd say just fine

But the truth is baby, if you could read my mind...

I really wish I could talk to him it's been so long...

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you

After all this time you're still with me it's true

Somehow you remain locked so deep inside

Heero then got an idea.

"I'll look him up and call him," Heero said getting on his computer and searching for Duo's number

I still wait for the phone in the middle of the night

Thinkin' you'll call me if your dreams don't turn out right

Duo was jerked out of his thoughts as the phone rang.

"Who could be calling me at this hour?!," Duo asked himself heading for the phone.

"Hello?," Duo answered cheerfully.

And it still amazes me that I lie here in the dark

Wishin' you were next to me, you're head against my heart

"Hello Duo," Heero said after a couple seconds.

Duo almost dropped the phone in surprise.

"Heero is that you?!"

"It's been a long time..."

If you asked me how I'm doing I'd day just fine

But the truth is baby if you could read my mind...

"Very long time! How are you doin?? ," Duo asked happy to hear from Heero.

"I'm ok... I was wondering if maybe you'd like to meet somewhere so we could get caught up on lost time..."

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you

After all this time you're still with me it's true

"Sure! When do you wanna get together??," Duo asked excitedly.

"Well I can leave first thing in the morning and be there in 5 hours..."

Minutes turn to hours, and the hours to days

Seems it's been forever since I've felt this way

"Sounds great! I'll be waiting for you!" Duo said giving Heero directions and then hanging up the phone. He could hardly wait for tomorrow to come...

Author's Notes: I just had to write this after hearing that song by Lonestar it's so pretty. I hope you guys enjoyed my story chapter 2 will come soon and as always R&R.
