No one had expected the day to change so suddenly. From the earlier hot humid sunshine, now the heavens had opened. Lightning flashed and then the thunder crackled.

"What the…?" Murdock had cursed as the sheets of heavy rain fell on them. But the sudden downpour had given them enough cover to escape from their captors.

Face and Amy ran along the back street; Murdock fled the other way. Splitting up, hoping to foil the bad guys and still make their rendezvous with BA and Hannibal at the van.

They ran, fighting against the torrential rain and the bellowing thunder, their clothes clinging to them. Gunfire followed them, making Amy automatically duck, stumbling; Face caught her and they continued running. Frequently he turned, firing his gun, making a bad guy duck for cover.

"Here," Face called, grabbing Amy's arm and quickly forcing her against a wall in a small side alley to their left.

Face stayed nearest the corner, his back firmly against the wall, his chest heaving, regaining his breath as he inserted another clip into his gun.

"You okay, kid?"

She nodded, watching Face.

His silk shirt soaked through, clinging to his body, defining his muscle contour. His hair darkened wet and flattened by the rain. The water trailing down his face. Amy impatiently pushed her long wet hair off of her face, behind her ears and then fingered her wet clothes. But none of it bothered Face. His only acknowledgment of the rain was a quick wipe of his eyes, an impatient flicking his hair back. His concentration was solely on the bad guys behind them.

He glanced around the corner and fired his gun, then took cover again by the wall as bullets flew past.

The rain continued its assault as Amy tried the only door along this short narrow alley. With her slippery wet hands she tried the handle, but it was locked. She banged the

door with her shoulder but it wouldn't budge. After providing a few gunshots down the street, Face quickly tried the door, kicking it but still it was no use.

"Where's BA when we need him?" Face joked. He quickly returned to his place at the corner, firing his gun.

They were stuck, the alley a dead end. And if they went back out into the street they'd surely get gunned down.

Amy swallowed. She just hoped Face had enough bullets to hold the creeps off.

With the hammering rain, they could just about make out the familiar roar of BA's van. It screeched to a halt, in front of the alley Face and Amy stood, providing them some protection. The side door slid open, revealing a soaked Murdock. Hannibal opened his door and stood, covered by the door, firing his rifle towards the bad guys tucked in another alley further down on the opposite side of the street, giving Face and Amy cover. Lightning flashed.

"Come on!" Murdock shouted over another rumble of thunder. With a quick glance in the direction of Hannibal's fire, Face nodded, grabbed Amy's hand, and ran towards the van unable to miss the muddy puddles that had so quickly gathered. Luckily no return fire came from the creeps.

Once securely in, Face slid the door shut. Hannibal slid back inside; keeping his rifle aimed out of the window as BA rammed the van into reverse, screeching up the street from which it had just came.

Hannibal glanced round at the three of them, soaked to their skin, a cigar already between his teeth. "You kids forget your umbrella's?"
