Splatoon
Chapter One
Agent?
A young man landed in the main plaza of Inkopolis, the capital city of the Inkling people, who were once an animal species called squids. They could even assume squid forms, and they used them in
their favorite pasttime, Ink Battles. The sport is divided into two kinds. Turf War was to see which team could cover the most turf on a map. Ranked Battles had specific objectives, and a new player
started at C- rank, and made their way to S+. It wasn't easy to get that high. The city is powered by zapfish, particularly the Great Zapfish, which is the primary power source. The Inkling boy looked
at the giant screen on the wall of one of the buildings. A news program appeared, revealing a pair of Inkling girls, wearing outfits typical of performers. They were the Squid Sisters, Callie, the
easygoing member, and Marie, the more laid back of the two. The Inkling boy, Akiru watched them. While he had heard of them, he was one of the few Inklings who had no interest in music. If there
was a song that could grab his attention, he hadn't heard it yet. As they came on the air, they seemed upset. "This is breaking news! The Great Zapfish has been stolen!" Callie looked at the picture on
the wall behind them, and said, "Without it, will we have power?" Marie looked up at it as well. "I don't know." They faced the screen, and said, "Until next time, Stay Fresh!" As the screen went out,
Akiru noticed an elderly man peeking out of a grate. Curious, he watched him dive into it. Deciding to check it out later, he went to sign in for his apartment. As he did, he noticed two figures enter the
grate. Even more curious, after he was signed in and his luggage put together, he walked to the grate, assumed his squid form, and dove in. The grate fell into a long tunnel, which shot him out into
an area he had never heard of before. An octopus was carved into the cliffs in the distance, and that old man and the two figures faced him as he arrived. The old man spoke up first. "THE OCTARIANS
ARE COMING!" Upon Akiru's startled expression, he added, "Oh, sorry. I got a little carried away. My name is Cuttlefish, Cap'n Cuttlefish of the Squidbeak Splatoon." Akiru nodded. "I'm Akiru."
Cuttlefish nodded. "That look in your eyes is what I've been waiting for! How long you been in town?" Akiru smiled. "I just moved in today." Cuttlefish nodded. "I'm looking for someone to recruit,
because the Great Zapfish has been squidnapped!" Akiru's eyes widened. "Squidnapped?" He noticed the other two facing him. One was wearing shades, and a pink outfit, and the other was wearing
a surgical mask, and a green outfit. It didn't take much for him to guess who they were. "Let me guess, the Squid Sisters?" The two stiffened, then removed their mask and shades. "He's good,
Gramps. You may have found a good one." Akiru faced the captain. "What do you need me for?" Cap'n Cuttlefish faced him. "I need you to help us recover the Great Zapfish." Akiru thought it over. He
had two months before his parents would stop paying the rent for his apartment, and getting back the Zapfish couldn't take that long. "I'm in." Cap'n Cuttlefish nodded. "Then, from today, you are
Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. My granddaughters are Agent 1, and Agent 2." He handed him a suit with a green stripe over the front, as well as a helmet with a built-in communicator, and
what looked like an Ink blaster. Upon Akiru's facial reaction, he said, "This is the Hero Suit, and the Hero Shot. You also have three kinds of bombs, splat bombs, seekers, and burst bombs." Akiru
nodded. "Got it." He donned the Hero Suit, and held the weapon reverently. Callie, or Agent 1, picked up a Hero Shot of her own. "I'm coming, too. We have enough recorded newscasts for two
months." Marie, or Agent 2, picked up the Hero Charger. "I'm coming, too, as sniper." Akiru nodded. A sniper was a good thing to have. Looking up, he said, "Here's where the fun begins."
A/N
SoftWare: I'm sorry if no one likes this, but I had to do it.
Marie: No, no, don't apologize. It's good that someone knows what happened.
Callie: Yay! I get to shoot things!
SoftWare: Okay. (Faces Akiru) What are you doing?
Akiru: (Not looking at SoftWare) Where's that monkey? I want to shoot something.
Computer: SoftWare, offline.
