Jesse sat in the middle of her room, legs pulled up to her chest and her chin rested on her knees. Her bright green eyes were closed and her red hair knotted like it hadn't been brushed for days.

All surfaces were covered in trays of food days old. The door was locked the curtains pulled closed. The bed was made and had not been slept in for weeks on end.

A bang was heard on the door but Jesse didn't even open her eyes.

"Come on Jess! Open up!" came a desperate yell as another bang was heard.

But as Jesse's energy disintegrated so did her sanity.

One of her cold, pale hands moved from clinging to leg and felt across the floor. She picked up a sharp knife that she kept defending herself with but this time defence was the last thing on her mind.

She griped the knifes handle tightly and looked at it's shiny blade. She let of her legs and set them crossed in front of her.

Jesse ran a finger across the blade and a line of blood dripped down her finger.

Jesse wiped the finger on her days old pyjamas and then pushed the knife through her chest.

Blood poured out the wound covering the floor around her.

Outside her father and Dr Benton Quest tried to get into the room.

Race smelt blood from the crack under the door and kicked it down.

He walked into the room and saw his only Daughter's corpse on the floor in a puddle of her blood

Race picked up the blood stained body and cried into the blood sodden clothes.

Benton followed and looked around for something of an explanation.

He went to Jesse's dresser and looked at the mirror.

"Race look." said Dr Quest to his distraught bodyguard.

Race walked toward the mirror with the body and saw the message ' I'M SORRY' written in blood.

Jonny drove home from visiting Hadji at his new job. He was thinking about Jesse's strange behaviour recently. She'd stay in her room all day saying nothing, doing nothing and all you could hear was silence.

He still didn't understand how she'd gone from in love to an unstable mess.

He drove up to the compound's driveway but he could sense something was wrong.

He got out the car and walked to the living quarters.

He saw no one until he walked toward his room where he had to walk past Jesse's room.

He saw Race sat in the darkened room clutching Jesse's limp body.

His father was there so Jonny stood next to him. He didn't need to ask what was wrong since his father's sad expression said it all.

He could tell that Jesse, his one and only love, was now dead.
