Just Once
The year was 1901; 6 years after London, England burst into flames. Late one spring night, Elizabeth Middleford was walking down Main Street London to her coach to go to her mansion. She was thinking and plotting all the many ways she could get Ciel Phantomhive to go on a date with her. Ciel was an 18 year old heir to the Phantomhive estate; he was 5 ft 8, with dark blue hair and one turquoise eye for the other had an eye patch over top of it; and Elizabeth was a 17 ½ year old young lady; with long, curly blonde hair, and light green eyes. I mean, why wouldn't he want to date her, right?
Meanwhile elsewhere; Ciel was sitting in his late father's study, planning on what to do next. He was debating on either going to bed, or to do some more paper work for the estate and the factories. Paper work it is. He was about to get out the estate's tax papers when his loyal demonic butler, Sebastian Michaelis, walked in.
"My Lord, should you not go to bed? It is nearly midnight." He asked his drowsy master.
"No, I need to get this paper work done for tomorrow morning." He said, but it was obviously a lie. "Now don't bother me again until I call for you." The young master ordered, while waving his hand. 'What's going on, I did not send for him; what's the meaning of this?'
"Yes, my Lord," Sebastian said with a sigh, and then left the study, leaving his master to ponder why he came in the first place.
Ciel got up and started to pace his study, wondering what had gotten into Sebastian. 'Maybe he was getting bord of waiting and wanted to go to sleep... But I thought demons don't sleep...' As Ciel paced and pondered, another knock was at his door.
"Master, can I come in?" It was Finnian. "Sir, I have something to tell you," He said with a tinge of worry in his voice.
"Fine, come in," Ciel replied and Finni walked through the door. "What is it this time?" He asked his gardener, while he positoned himself with his hands folded underneath his chin and his elbows on the desk.
"I-I'm sorry S-sir, I b-broke the vase again.." Finni said, but trailed off, thinking he was going to get yelled at.
The young heir just sighed, 'this is the third time this week...', "Fine, just fix it then go to bed; and don't bother me again!" he said, slightly raising his voice, for he was getting annoyed with all of the intrusions.
Finni looked up, relived. Then took a long bow and said, "Yes, my lord." Feeling proud that he just said that, he turned and skipped off to go and do as his boss had ordered.
"This is going to be a long night," Ciel said to himself, then started to doing his paper work.
