A Note From The Author

When I first got to Hogwarts, I was shocked that there was not a single book for Muggle Borns with any kind of advice on how to deal with the world of magic whatsoever. Sure, the headmaster or head mistress comes around and explains the world of magic to you. That all fine and dandy but, there is nothing to guide you through the process of everyday life, and life outside school. What do you say to your friends when you suddenly decide to go to a very far away boarding school in Scotland where they can never see you, or how to suddenly transfer smoothly from a world with no magic at all (unless you see friends who have connections to the Wizarding world during the Holidays)? Believe I looked for any information I could on the subject, until I decided that the book I desired didn't exist, so I desired to do something useful with my endless non-magical summer holidays and created the book you are now holding in your hands: 'A Muggle Born's Guide To Hogwarts'. I thought I would like to begin with introducing myself and what will be in this book. My name is Florence Sliverguard; I am going into my 7th Year of Hogwarts School Of Witch Craft And Wizardry. I am in Ravenclaw house, and a Muggle Born (otherwise I would be unqualified to right this book.) When I leave school I want to either work at Gringotts Bank. In this book I shall tell stories about my own mistakes and stories as I have been introduced into the world of magic, tips and advice about the world you have entered into. Congratulations on the receiving of your Hogwarts letter, and I hope that this book helps you when it can, and you will never be in some of the tight spots I was in.
