Chapter 1
"The Smugglers"
Hey, guys! It's Max and my sister KittyKatKJS (AKA Kitty) bringing you a new story in the mysterious world of Star Wars...
Quote of the Day: "Promise me that you'll always remember that you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
-Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh
Disclaimer: (Do I really have to do this?... OK, fine) I DO NOT, I REPEAT, I DO NOT OWN Star Wars the Old Republic OR ANY OF Star Wars. (There, I did it. You happy now?)
(Katlyn's* POV)
I was heading to the Stellos system to deliver some... Important cargo... When we received a weird signal. "Coordinates," I said softly.
"What did you say?" Said my co-pilot Mabelle**. "You really need to stop mumbling so much Katy!"
"OK, Ma... I said, co-or-din-ates!"
"OK, but I'm not your freaking MA!"
And with that outburst, a flood of memories came rushing back. Good ones, bad ones, happy ones, sad ones, and, most of all, the death of my parents. Why do you think I became a Smuggler in the first place? Because it was a cool trend or something?
"What's going on in here?" Said my friend Sarah***. Then she caught a glimpse of me, on the verge of snapping, tears gathering in my eyes. "What happened?" She asked. "What did you do, Mabelle!?" She screamed.
"I - I - I," Stuttered Mabelle. I got up, kicked Mabelle (hard) in the shin, told Sarah to take over for me, and walked off to the cargo hold.
(Le time skip)
As soon as I walked into the room, I was greeted by a thoughtful grunt from Benji, the ship's Wookie.
As if he could sense my mood, he wrapped me in the biggest Wookie hug he could muster. I started to sob right then and there like a dork and buried my face in his fur. "You always know how to make me feel better, don'tcha?"
An agreeable grunt came from Benji.
Just then, I heard the door slide open.
Sarah walked in, red faced (probably from screaming at Mabelle trying to figure out what had happened). "Hey, Katy - Oh, you're hugging the Wookie again."
In Benji's defense, I said, "He's not just a Wookie, Sarah. He's a thoughtful, loving person!"
"Sheesh," Said Sarah. "Didn't know you were in such a bad mood today. But, I didn't come in here to start another fight. I just wanted to let you know that we got another one of those, strange signals. I know that you already know that the signals are coordinates, but I found a way to decrypt them. Wanna see the results?"
I nodded my head, gave Benji one last squeeze, whispered, "Thank you." in his ear, and followed Sarah out of the cargo hold.
