He heard a cry from the across the street. He turned around and saw a group of kids huddled together in a circle.

"Give me back my lollipop!" shouted someone from within the circle. He knew that voice anywhere. He quickly walked across the street.

"Hey! What are you guys doing bullying the weak?" he asked arrogantly at the kids. They all turned to him, revealing the crying red-head.

"Niou!" Marui cried, running to him and hiding behind his back. The other kids came closer to him. They were bigger but he could still take them on. "They took my lollipop!"

He saw from his side that an accusing finger pointed at the group. He narrowed his eyes at them.

"No one gets to make Marui cry but me" he spat at them bitterly.

"And who are you to talk you little pipsqueak?" a guy said, most probably their leader.

"Your soon-to-be worst nightmare" he smirked at them as they lunged at him. He had successfully dodged a few punches but sustained bruises. The others, meanwhile, had broken noses, black eyes and were holding onto their poor shins. They glared at him and turned away but not before swearing that they would make him regret it.

His smirk widened. As if they would ever beat him. He turned around to face Marui who looked mortified.

"N-Niou…you're hurt…" Marui went closer to him. The little red-head, sweet-loving friend of his is such a softie. He could see the worry in the other's eyes. He flinched as he felt pain on the bruise at his cheek. He glared at Marui.

"Don't touch me!" he accidentally blurted out. Tears formed in the other's eyes. Oh great. "You're such a crybaby, you know that?"

"I was just being concerned!" Marui pouted at him. He rolled his eyes.

"And I don't need your concern" he took Marui's hand. "Let's get you a new lollipop before people start thinking that I'm the one who bullied you."

"You are bullying me!"

"And I have every right to do so" he looked back at Marui and smirked at him. Oh yeah. For a child, he already has a bit of the bad boy image that he would soon be well-known for.

They bought Marui's lollipop and went their way home. The bruises paid off to see his friend smile like that. But then, Marui will have to pay for his services by being a hospitable host once again. Oh yes. He was going to have a sleepover at Marui's. He smirked. His eyes full of glee, thinking of ways he could pester the other boy during his sleepover at the Marui's.

He looked at the unknowing boy to his right as the other looked back. His smirk only grew wider as Marui held questioning eyes.

"What?" he didn't answer but smirked and looked forward. Marui kept prodding him about it but to no avail. Oh how he would love and enjoy teasing his friend as payment later on.
