Mae Lilac jumped out of bed and threw on some a pair of light blue flare jeans. She grabbed a light blue shirt with flowing lines of dark blue on it. She struggled to get socks and shoes on as she brushed her teeth. She ran a brush through her brown hair and added a touch of eyeliner to line her big bluish-purple eyes.
Mae ran down the stairs and grabbed a piece of toast and her backpack by the door. As she left, she heard her father calling after her, "Have a good day at school, honey. I lov-" The closing of the door drowned out the rest of her fathers goodbyes.
She ran down to the corner of the street and saw a familiar red head. As she ran by she poked Greg and stuck her tongue out at him. She saw him start to run and pushed herself to her speed limit. She could hear Greg's footsteps behind her and she smiled. She turned abruptly into an alleyway and ran head smack into a tall figure wearing a dark cape.
Mae opened her eyes slowly and almost screamed with what she saw. A tall horse, if that's what you can call it, was standing over her. A small, creamish point was in the middle of its forehead. Its body glowed a creamish-silver color and the mane and tail flowed like fire. Mae's eyes got wide as she reached out to touch the mane. She pulled her hand back quickly as soon as she felt the heat near it. It was fire.
Mae screamed loudly, bringing several more fire unicorns to where she laid. The one that had been standing over her backed up hesitantly. Mae jumped up and ran as fast as she could away from the beasts. She saw roofs peeking over the edge of a hilltop and she ran for it, thinking it is her hometown.
She reached the edge of the village and stopped abruptly. Everywhere, there were weird beasts. Small, purple rats; along with green worm things with bubble bodies. There was a yellow bug with a point on its head, and a red cat with fox ears and a lot of tails that curled at the end.
Mae rushed through the town, looking for a familiar face. Anybody, even her sister or enemy. But she had no luck. She was lost, big time. She saw a house that looked like hers and she rushed in, forgetting to look at the house number.
