Last week, Ezra had unfortunately promised me that he would stay out of my life. I really needed to get over him, but I couldn't. He thought I could though.
I couldn't just sit in my room all day, waiting for him to call or send me a text. I grabbed my cell phone and some money before heading out the door, I needed a BIG cup of coffee right now.
I was walking along the footpath toward the centre of Rosewood when I received a text. I pulled my phone from my pocket, " there is nothing A can say to hurt me" I thought. This message wasn't from A. It was from Spencer. She was the most understanding of my best friends when it came to my feelings for Ezra. Unfortunately the text was about him.
"I wanted to tell you as quickly as possible. Mr. Fitz has moved from his old apartment. I ran into him earlier, he asked if you were okay, I said you were."
My head started to spin. Why did he move? Was he going to change jobs too? Why did he ask how I was? Did he still have feelings for me? Or was he just making small-talk?
"Aria, are you okay?" I got another text from Spencer.
I pulled myself together and sent her a reply.
"I am. Thx Spence!"
I started to walk again. My mind was reeling with all the different reasons Ezra could possibly have for moving, but I couldn't think of one that was reasonable enough to be true.
I finally reached the coffee shop and bought my cappuccino. It took almost all the money I had on me, meaning that I couldn't take the bus home as I had originally planned. Resigning myself to the idea of walking home, as I stepped outside I looked longingly toward the bus stop. Turning around, I didn't see the person that I practically crashed into. My very hot coffee spilt, pouring down my denim shorts and my legs. God, it hurt.
"Oh crap! I am so sorry Aria!" a familiar voice said.
Looking up I was met with Ezra's blue eyes.
