A short drabble on one of the highlights of Takumi's life. Enjoy!

Takumi Usui stepped out of his car door as the chill of the winter air seeped through the fabric of his midnight blue suit. Winter was yet to falter, its unrelenting coldness bestowed on the dwellers of Tokyo. Shutting the door of his silver luxury car, he glanced at his watch. He sighed. Matters that needed to be sorted at the headquarters required extra overtime work, thus his late arrival home.

The familiar beep of the locking system of the car echoed through the empty underground carpark. Takumi's shoes tapped rhythmically against the white concrete as he approached the elevator. His was soley focused on one thought.

Misa-chan must be missing me.

The ding of the lift signalled the arrival af the top floor, the residence of the Usuis. Metallic doors rolled apart before Takumi as he took a step closer to home. When he unlocked the front door, the lights were already out. The apartment was still cool despite the internal heating system. The wide glass window to their living room painted the dots of lights that illuminated the city below. Above, the sky was dark, a few stars shining faintly compared to the glowing moon. The city life was still alive despite how late in the night it was.

Shifting out of his shoes, he quietly made his way to the master bedroom where he found his queen fast asleep in their bed. Takumi smiled fondly. Her sleeping and defenceless face was cute and always managed to make his heart skip a beat.

Quietly rifling through the drawers for his pyjamas, he thought about how he couldn't wait to join Misaki in bed. With some energy regained from that thought alone, he headed towards the bathroom.

The hot shower eased his stiff muscles that he gained from the overtime in the office. The position of President of a company did not guarantee an easy workload. The final signing of paperwork was stacked in mountains, similar to the type of work Misaki faced during their highschool days.

Slipping under the covers, Takumi snuggled against Misaki's back. He draped an arm over her, carefully circling her curved stomach. She was carrying a miracle they had created and a soon-to-be bundle of joy for them, as they were expectant parents. The heat of the shower had warmed his skin and Misaki subconsciously rolled over to face Takumi. He grinned; his wife's sleeping face was up close for him to see. To him, she was his sleeping beauty, her lashes resting on her rosy cheeks and a cute pout reserved for only whilst she was asleep. Takumi moved in closer, aware that she was attracted to the warmth he emitted. His secured his arm on her waist, effectively pressing her body against his own. His other hand stroked the back of Misaki's head, guiding her to rest her face to rest under his chin and against his warm neck. Misaki tangled her legs with his, her body determined to absorb as much warmth as possible from her heat source. Takumi lightly chuckled.

'So eager, my love.'

Her small hands rested against his chest, over the slow rhythm of his heart. Together, they were immune to the coldness of the winter.

Kissing the top of the head of his beloved, he murmured a thankful prayer for a beautiful wife and child she was carrying. At times like these, he felt comfort and peace and wished for nothing else in the world. Misaki made him feel complete. Coming home to her was his reward for every working day.

With that thought, Takumi drifted off to his lala land of Misa-chans.
