I recently spoke with Dumbledore, about numerous things, including but not limited to; Muggle Art, Quidditch, and science. He in fact informed me of his most recent experiment, where he sent Fawkes out to fly free for a few hours and then removed the memory, which for a phoenix is still silver, when he returned. He then added the memory to the pensive so that he may observe what it was Fawkes had seen on his journey.

Dumbledore has given me the great honor of relaying "his" sights back to you.

"At first there was nothing except for bright blue. Then all of a sudden it was white, returned to blue, and then 'I' began to see green.

"I soon realized that I was seeing the Quidditch pitch where Gryffindor was practicing for their big match against Slytherin. The sight was truly magnificent, truly magnificent.

"It then went back to blue for a while, until 'we' came to the Forbidden Forest and Hagrid's Hut. He of course was out in his 'garden' puttering around with his newest pet. 'We' were too far away to get a good look at what exactly he had.

"Throughout the memory I saw Professor Sprout in the greenhouses; Madam Hootch was observing the Gryffindor students at the pitch; and Professor McGonagall was having tea with Professor Trelawney."

He then stopped for a moment so that he could gather up what it was he was going to say next.

"Later on 'I' saw Hogsmead for the first time from a bird's-eye-view. It was a wonderful sight, one I will never forget.

"The hustle and bustle of people, I do believe a new broom model came in, that store seemed to be the most crowded.

"I believe that the most interesting part of the experience is that although it was a memory, I still could not hear what was going through Faux's head as he was soaring."

He paused once more and a serene, pondering look came upon his face.

"I am curious," He began, "If that when Fawkes combusts, and is reborn from the ashes if he will still have all of his memories from now."

I gave him a strange look.

"Oh, well, another time, another time."

I shook his hand and left his office. The whole way back to the Gryffindor Common Room I was thinking to myself how much I would have loved to see Fawkes' Memory and to know the vast beauty seen during the Flight of the Phoenix.
