Another "Jay-Jay the Jet Plane" story, this time it's "Old Oscar Steals the Show" Enjoy and comment.
After the success of the air show, thanks to Jay-Jay's big performance, Terrytown decided to put on yet another air show, this time featuring airplanes from all over the world. The airport was all decorated for the special occasion, and all the airplanes were excited, except for Old Oscar, who was very sick.
Brenda Blue had worked on him all morning, and couldn't get him right.
"You're a mess." she said. "I can't let you fly in the air show."
Old Oscar was cross. This was the first time he would miss the air show.
Soon, it was time for the airshow. Lots of people, young and old had shown up. Easy O'Malley made an announcement over the loudspeakers.
"Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls. I welcome you all to Terrytown's first annual World Airplane Show!"
Everyone clapped and cheered!
"And now, it gives me great honor to present the honorary plane of the show, Snuffy the Air-Writer!"
Right on cue, Snuffy wrote ([WELCOME]) in the clear blue sky. It was a magnificent work of art. The crowd cheered!
Easy O'Malley then introduced the Blue Herron military airplanes, who flew in circles all around the spectators!
Next, Herkie the Helicopter was introduced, and for his act, flew at warp speed up and down, inside out, and all around, before landing neatly on the ground.
The crowd gave Herkie a standing ovation! They had never seen anything like that ever before!
Meanwhile, Old Oscar was still feeling ill, and Brenda Blue was still trying to fix him.
"Don't give up yet." said Old Oscar. "I know you can do it!"
"I'll try my hardest!" said Brenda Blue.
Next up at the air show was Tracy, who was spinning across the sky, doing perfect cartwheels. She finished by flying over the cheering crowd!
Then, Easy O'Malley announced that Big Jake and Jay-Jay, the stars of last week's air show, would fly next.
Everyone went wild!
Easy O'Malley then announced that they would do an act that had never been done before!
When Big Jake and Jay-Jay took off, the crowd fell silent.
Jay-Jay held on tight as Big Jake went so high up into the sky, that the ground looked very tiny.
Then, he executed a perfect dive, and Jay-Jay did a perfect loop-de-loop, before landing in near spectacular fashion.
The crowd gave the two a thunderous ovation that lasted more than a minute. Herkie cheered the longest and the loudest.
Old Oscar was soon fixed, and soon he arrived back at the airport.
"Ladies and gentleman, please welcome Old Oscar the bio-plane!"
Everyone turned to face Old-Oscar as he took off into the sky. He revved his engine and flew a perfect circle!
Then, there was trouble. As he attempted to fly over the grandstand, he realized that he couldn't turn! He was going to crash!
The spectators gasped and held their breath.
But just then, a miracle happened. Right before he was about to crash, he started to rise up again! Then, he flew across the grandstand and landed perfectly on the ground.
The crowd gave Old Oscar the loudest ovation of the day!
"Wow!" exclaimed Jay-Jay.
"That's what determination is!" said Old Oscar. "But don't ask me to do it again!"
