Lucy woke up shaking, it was really cold in her apartment on this brisk November morning. She smiled as she turned around to gaze at the beautiful sunrise. Then her tranquility was lost as she heard someone come in through her window and then she felt the bed dip under someone else's weight.
"Natsu!" Lucy yelled, "Get out of my bed!"
"C'mon," he whined, "Your bed is so comfy."
Lucy planned to Lucy kick him out of her house when she realized that she had stopped shivering when Natsu came into her room. She stared at him for a couple seconds until Natsu spoke.
"Why are you being so weird? Stop staring at me."
"Uh…um…," Lucy fidgeted, unsure how to approach Natsu with her request that she had just thought of. "I was…uh…wondering if you…um…would…uh…stay…uh…yeah?"
Then she rushed to explain so that he wouldn't get the wrong idea, "Only because it is so cold and uh…," She whispered the next part, "…uh…you're….you're warm."
She looked down at her feet, suddenly afraid of what his reaction would be.
Natsu, on the other hand, was overflowing with joy. She actually wanted him here! He was so happy, he loved spending time with Lucy and even more so when he got to cuddle with her. Lucy didn't know about all the times he had snuck into her bed and cuddled with her while she was fast asleep.
Natsu suddenly realized that he had yet to answer her question, "Of course! And can we cuddle too? That way you'll be even warmer."
Lucy's face suddenly felt a million times hotter than it did a second ago before Natsu asked to cuddle. She started stuttering, unsure how to say yes to his question.
Natsu, taking her stuttering as a no, simply told her he was teasing while trying to hide the hurt he felt from her negative response.
Lucy suddenly whispered, so quietly that if he didn't have dragon slayer hearing then he would never have heard it, "I…uh…wouldn't mind if we cuddled."
Natsu then smiled hugely and said, throwing his fist into the air, "Yes! I'm all fired up."
Lucy giggled but then as she felt her eyelids start to droop, she headed over to her bed and collapsed under the covers. She fell asleep quickly, not noticing when Natsu climbed into bed after her and moved his arm around her, pulling her close. Neither of them heard the snicker of a certain blue exceed who was excited because he would soon be getting a boatload of fish from Mira for the picture he had taken of the two partners since they were both in dreamland.
