A Christmas Wish
It was cold December and Adam stood in the boiler room after his confrontation with Belle. He stared at the Yule log in his clawed paw and sighed sadly. In the time he had come to know Belle he knew the season of Christmas was something she loved dearly but his beastly temper refused to allow the occasion proceed. It was during that very season that he and his beloved sister had been cursed.
Adam looked at the log with sad eyes before closing them. He just wished that things could be as they had been before.
After Forte, one of Adam's most trusted advisors had betrayed him and tried to not only destroy the castle itself but also everyone that resided within. The beast decided to give Belle the Christmas she had yearned for. They had a grand Christmas eve where they each opened one present. Lumiere received a box of matches (He loved them, being in his cursed form), Cogsworth received oil for his rusty joints, Mrs Potts received a tea cosy, Chip a new storybook and for the beast Belle gave him a simple kiss upon his fury cheek under the mistletoe. That was the greatest Christmas Present of all.
As the night came to an end Belle, The beast and the servants all touched the Yule Log and made a Christmas wish and the next morning the beast saw to it personally that it was burned first thing as tradition stated. They had a small Christmas ball and the ballroom had been decorated with the most splendid festively decorated tree much to Belle's delight. They sang Carols and danced all day long.
After Belle and the servants retired for the night. Adam gazed at the glittering star that lay in a small white box that he held. It was his own family's Christmas tradition that the youngest always place it on top of the tree. He sighed sadly as he placed the lid back over the box,
"The tree doesn't look right without it" Said a soft voice from behind him before he could fully close the box and he froze for a moment before turning slowly to find Rose standing their in a festive green dress decorated with holly,
"That's not possible" he whispered stunned and Rose smiled softly as she stepped forward slowly,
"Anything is possible when it comes to Christmas magic" she whispered holding out her hand towards him and he slowly reached out and placed his paw in her small hand,
"I'm afraid this can't last dear brother. Even Christmas wishes have their limits" she told him gently and Adam looked at her sadly,
"How long do we have?" he asked and Rose smiled sadly,
"Midnight" she answered gently and Adam looked sadly for a moment but suddenly looked stunned at the hand she was holding. A hand!. Rose smiled softly,
"I wasn't about to leave you out on this night dear brother" she said gently, reaching up and cupped his smooth cheek and leaned up before pressing a kiss to his forehead and Adam closed his eyes as he stood for the first time in what seemed like forever as the Prince he had once been.
Rose smiled as she took the box from his hand gently,
"Let's fore-fill our Christmas tradition shall we?" she asked and Adam smiled before nodding.
Adam lifted his little sister into the air gently as she placed the star on top of the tree and she smiled brightly at the star before looking at Adam,
"Merry Christmas Adam" she whispered before hugging him tightly and Adam smiled as he hugged her back just as tight,
"Merry Christmas Rose" he whispered as the clock struck midnight and Rose faded from his arms which was now the arms of a beast once more but the beast couldn't help but smile at the star that now sat upon the top of the tree.
