Only a Dream
You were there,
And I was there with you.
We were on Earth.
You and our friends,
Exploring our new surroundings.
And we talked for a while.
And I loved talking to you.
Then I woke up,
And realized,
For the first time,
That it had only been a dream.
You were there,
And I was there with you.
We lay underneath an apple tree,
Side by side,
Our hands gently touching.
And I thought about,
How wonderful it was,
That you cared.
And I thought about,
How wonderful it would be,
To stay like this,
Forever.
Then I woke up,
And realized,
For the first time,
That had only been a dream.
You were there,
And I was there with you.
We were inches away form one another.
Everyone was watching.
But we didn't care.
The grass was bright green,
The sky a beautiful blue,
The sun was shining,
And everything was,
Perfect.
Our lips touched,
And I felt anew.
And I kissed you back.
But then,
I woke up.
And, with a dull ache,
A realized once again,
That it had only,
Been a dream.
A dream,
That could never,
Ever come true.
