For timeline reasons, this takes place a few generations after the events of Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. This is also the first time I am not doing a prologue based on a dream. Without further ado, we're off!
Prologue
Link wandered through the castle. He was tired of being constantly trained in the way of the sword. Sure, his father said he had a destiny, but the young prince was bored with this notion. HE kicked a stone at a wall, which hit a switch. A hidden door opened, and Link followed the stairs down to the basement. At the very bottom sat a relatively new pedestal that held a seemingly ancient sword, its hilt a dusty grey. "What is this?" Link asked himself as he reached out to touch the blade.
Chapter 1: War and Desperation
Link looked around. One moment he was in a hidden basement, the next he was in the middle of a scorched field. Suddenly, two huge bodies came crashing down at him. "Ah!" Link managed to dodge the falling bodies. He looked at the huge beasts. One was white and furry, its jet tail blazing with fire. The other was black and armored, its turbine jolting with electricity. "Holy cow!" Link wanted to run, but didn't. He as entranced by the strange beauty of these beasts. Unknown to him, a third creature watched. It was grey with a long body and icy wings. The black beast formed a huge ball of blue electricity and threw it down at the white beast, who countered at the same time with a large ball of red fire. The grey beast ran up and shielded Link from the explosion that ensued soon after. Everything went white, then grey, then black as Link lost consciousness.
Link woke up again. He was still in the field, except there was a huge crater where the huge beasts were having an epic battle just a few minutes before. Or was it hours? Link went down to the bottom of the crater. In it were three eggs. One was black and static. One was white and warm. One was grey and cool. Link tried picking up the eggs, but realized he only had enough strength to carry one. He picked up the white one and as soon as he did, the other two vanished. "Weird…" Link said as he inspected the egg. It was twice the size of a Cucco and five times heavier, especially for a twelve-year-old like him. The egg suddenly glowed a fiery red and flashed around Link.
Link was now back in the hidden basement with the egg in hand. He ran up the stairs, pushed the switch to close the entrance, and went to tell his father, the King of Hyrule, whom he was named after.
This chapter was kind of short, but so are the rest of my first chaps. The publish date for the next chapter is unknown, and constructive criticism is appreciated. This is Mulunia, signing out.
