orange citrus chapter 1 : sun and shadow
"please teach us for our next exam!yachi san!"
a boy with fluffy orange hair illuminated by morning sun standing in front of a blonde short haired girl with a star hair tie.
"hiiii!?"
she can't help but whimpering towards that sudden attack.
"y..yes? hi..hinata san?"
the girl try to regain the conversation before it seems like a bullying scene from other people point of view.
"hinata is fine! yachi san!"
that boy still standing there with a wide grin on his mouth.
"t..then yachi is fine" she said nervously.
Next to him, a taller guy standing with a soft glare in his eyes. Not particularly vicious but still intimidating for a small girl like her.
"don't shout. fool"
that taller boy slap the fluffy head beside him before averting his eyes back to her.
"yachi san..please teach us"
he bowed calmly, his voice seem gentler than his usual when he do volleyball practice in club.
"u..umm okay..kageyama san"
For some reason. since yachi started become their club's second manager, she often have to deal with first year of the club. Especially these two since they have bad grades, and they need her to teach them a few subject outside class.
"then you gonna teach us!?YAAAAY!"
the fluffy head grab her hand without second thought and bounce them out together while jumping like a child.
It's like basking on a direct sunlight it make you feel energized but tired at the same time.
that how it feel when she see Hinata Shoyo, a first year middle blocker from karasuno highschool volleyball club.
And like a shadow, a taller boy who always with him have a quiet personality.
that was her first impression outside field.
but it feel different somehow, how Kageyama Tobio looks when he alone, and when he act as a setter for karasuno highschool volleyball club. he looks sharp, endearing with an eagle-ish eyes.
it seems like a perfect match for hinata's dullness.
"so..you guys gonna come to my house?"
yachi ask almost whispering, this two tall boy make her easily intimidated, well she was a timid little girl to begin with.
"yes!please!"
the two of them shout in front of her, make her ears stinging.
"o..okay then since tomorrow is holiday"
she said while tried to pull a smile from her tiny lips.
"thank you very much!"
they shout again, yachi didn't have any problem dealing with them, beside their loud voice and intimidating feature. as if she can tell that to those two so she keep silent and bow before leaving for class.
the two boys wave at her from distance, while the fluffy head half bouncing from his feet, with a wide smile.
"oy, hinata. this time don't fall asleep in yachi san house, it's rude"
kageyama scratch his neck with a nervous gesture.
"why? but you do that too right?it's not like i'm the only one to do that, bakageyama"
hinata sprung the truth back towards kageyama.
"we..well thats an accident!i didn't mean to do that. it's different from you! fool!"
the things hinata said seems to hit on the spot. kageyama can't help but snort back at him while glaring.
In response, hinata let out a sigh and look at where yachi dissappear.
"but her room have a nice smell, don't you think? it's comforting and make me sleepy..girls sure have a nice smell..ne kageyama?"
kageyama stopped and look at his friend beside him, then realize where hinata look at.
"i don't know. dumbass! i'm not a girl"
kageyama nervously rub his nose with his hand.
hinata look at him and grin.
"nah, you're not a honest person are you? kageyama?"
hinata said teasingly, then he softly shove kageyama with his ankle.
"shut up! hinata boke!"
kageyama shouts.
hinata laughs.
