For all intensive purposes, Grissom's in Vegas, purely because this is my story and I said so. Due to a technical error, probably on my side, GSRgirlforever was unable to send the beta'ed version of this story so you're stuck with my mistakes. Sorry.
I own zippo but I'm getting there. Slowly.

"I hear you were quite the hero tonight."
Hodges was startled by the familiar voice of his former supervisor coming from beside him.
"It was nothing."
"Nothing? You saved Wendy's life."
"I just did what anyone would have." Grissom didn't seem to believe him.
"I think its more than that." The look plastered to Hodge's face was priceless. "Lets just say...Dating and marrying Sara has opened my eyes to a few things."
"Yeah...and whats the evidence telling you?"
"That even though you have your doubts, you know deep down that, even if you have to change shift, she's worth it.." A friendly hand clamped down on his shoulder. "Do yourself a favor David, don't wait as long as I did, cause being on your own sucks."
With a gentle pat, Hodges watched as Grissom made his way over to Sara, the gold ring on his left hand glistening in the early morning light as he rubbed her arms in a soothing gesture. As they shared a soft kiss did Grissom's words really sink in.
Could he really have what Grissom shared with Sara?
His thought bubble popped when the woman on his mind came into his eye line.
"Hey. I just wanted to say thanks for today. You saved my life."
"Any time." Grissom's words came back into his mind as she walked away. Do yourself a favor David, don't wait as long as I did, cause being on your own sucks. "Hey Wendy." The look on her face almost made him lose his nerve. "Do you... maybe...want to have dinner...sometime...with...me?"

"What were talking you about before I showed up?" Sara raised a curious eyebrow at her husband.
"Nothing. Just passing on some friendly advise."
She snuggled into his side as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and they retrieved to the car.
