"Your face," Parvati began suddenly during breakfast, then paused.
Blaise looked up from his plate of food and frowned in confusion.
"It's funny," Parvati continued, placing a thoughtful finger on her chin. "Especially when you do that."
"Do what?" Blaise asked.
"That," Parvati replied with a little giggle. "You look like a glumfish."
Blaise raised an eyebrow.
"You know, that creature that Luna keeps talking about," she offered by way of explanation.
Blaise sighed. He had long since given up on Luna Lovegood's long list of probably imaginary characters. Nonetheless, he was determined to not let his wife get away with calling him one of them.
"Luckily for me, I married a nargle," he said with a smirk.
Parvati pouted indignantly, and he very nearly gave in and apologised on seeing her expression, but then stopped himself.
"Am not!" she exclaimed, glaring at him. He grinned victoriously, then shrugged.
"I'm only repeating what your sister told me." Oh it was a low jibe and he knew it, but he was having too much fun to stop.
"Padma would never call me..." she began, her expression changing from a frown to one of incredulity. Then her voice trailed off.
Blaise shrugged noncommittally, returning to his breakfast. He pretended to stare intently at the copy of the Quibbler lying on the table, but from the corner of his eye, he saw her gaze flick to the fireplace. He knew she was contemplating Floo calling her sister to give her a piece of her mind. He was curious to see if she would. He watched her sit pensively for a bit, her fingers fidgeting constantly.
Then, having finished his food, he walked over to her and enveloped her in a hug.
"You didn't let me finish," he told her, and looking at her confused face, he added, "I am very glad I married said nargle."
She smiled at this, pulling him down by the collar to kiss him.
Then, she softly whispered into his ear.
"I love you too."
For my darling cupcake , the Arthur to my Molly, Katz, for her birthday. Apologies for my lack of banter-writing skills, dearie. I hope you still like this. :D
