Author's Note: My shortest fic to date, and certainly the most light hearted. Hopefully, I managed to capture Gibbs irritation and Tony's intoxication all right. So read, review and enjoy this one. I know I enjoyed the idea that popped out for this fic.
Disclaimer: I do not own NCIS or its characters. Or sparkly vampires really.
It was 0300 when the damn phone rang, and as an irate Leroy Jethro Gibbs slammed his hand to get the offending piece of machine, he hoped that the person who had half the brains to call him in the middle of the night, had a good reason to wake him up. And just when he managed to fall asleep with Hollis Mann beside him.
Said woman didn't wake up at the disruption, just muttered something unintelligible and turned over the other side, burying her head under the pillows. Gibbs chuckled even as he answered his phone.
'Yeah, Gibbs.'
Gibbs didn't look at the caller ID when he answered, and was met by blasting music from the other end. That and obviously drunken people shouting profanities and singing loudly, very much off-key.
'Gibbs! Hey Ziva, it's Gibbs!'
Gibbs groaned, sitting up.
'DiNozzo, what the hell are you doing calling me at this hour?'
It appeared that Tony DiNozzo, senior field agent of the MCRT was drunk, and from what Gibbs could gather, so was his partner Ziva David.
'Hey Gibbsy! I'm sparkling Gibbsy! Just like that sparkly vampire who sparkles under the sun! Hey Ziva! Aren't I sparkly everywhere?'
And Gibbs could've sworn that he heard a girlish giggle in the background, confirming Tony's statement that he was indeed sparkly everywhere.
'DiNozzo, there a reason you called?'
An oblivious Tony answered, voice in a happy daze. Gibbs didn't think he wanted to know what actually made him that happy.
'I dunno Gibbs. Hey Ziva! The Bossman wants to know why I called him! What should I tell him?'
Another giggle. Gibbs was starting to think that he was going mad. He decided he wasn't going to get any more answers from his drunken agents, coherent ones at least.
'Look DiNozzo, I don't care what the hell you drank or what you and Ziva did. Just make sure you're report in at 0700 tomorrow, you got that?'
Not giving Tony a chance to answer with some drunken quip, he slammed the phone shut and sank back into his bed, relieved that strange conversation was over. Hollis finally awoke and rolled over to face him, eyes leaden with sleep.
'Was that Agent DiNozzo? Is something wrong?'
Gibbs shrugged and tucked a stray hair behind her ear. 'Nothing's wrong, but he's gonna have one hell of a hangover tomorrow.'
Laughing, the blonde pulled him closer to her, burrowing into his firm chest. 'Well don't give him too much of a hard time tomorrow. He'll probably be embarrassed enough at calling you when he was drunk.'
Gibbs smirked and tugged the blankets up higher around them, 'Go back to sleep Hol. G'night.'
And Gibbs slept very well that night, knowing he'd have plenty of blackmail material to use on Tony after tonight.
