"I don't, think that, uh..." Calvin looked down, avoiding looking into the lens of the camera that Andre was pointing in his face. "I could've done this with anyone else either." He bit on his bottom lip softly, fumbling with the bullets as he slipped them inside the gun that lay over his lap. With a soft, almost inaudible sigh he turned and gazed out across the almost deserted school parking lot, watching one car pass by their's. Clicking the final piece on his gun shut, he Calvin turned back to Andre with a small smile. He looked Andre's face up and down once, making his smile grow just a little more.
"You ready?" Andre asked.
"I am." Calvin nodded once, looking back out at the parking lot, mentally mapping the path they would take to begin their plans. He'd walked that way into school countless times. It left him wondering why he was eyeing it so nervously this time. In the back of his mind there was that thought that it would be the last time he'd walk that path.
"Let's get this shit done." Andre said, jumping out of the car and slamming the door shut after him. With a determined huff, Calvin joined him.
Standing at the hood of the car, he stared at the building ahead with a creased expression. It seemed like hardly long ago the two boys were standing where they were now, talking to their video camera, telling it how the school was their strongest enemy. It made him grin a little.
"Come on, Cal." Andre turned to him, his head slightly tilted. Andre reached out and grabbed Calvin's free hand, smiling warmly at him.
Calvin's eyes flickered from the building down to his hand, up to Andre. Something about Andre's touch reassured him, made him sure that going through with their careful plans together was right. Calvin nodded quickly, following Andre as he took off across the parking lot, their hands still intertwined.
Gripping the gun in his other hand tightly, he sprinted faster keeping his eyes set on the school building, a small smirk on his face as he did so.
They came to a sharp stop at the front entrance. "Do you think we'd make history?" Calvin asked, looking at the handle of the door that he stood directly in front of.
Andre shrugged. "Yeah, probably. You ready to make history, Cal?"
Calvin gave a small chuckle. "Yeah." He hesitantly slipped his hand out of Andre's grip and swung the door open.
