Disclaimer: So this is my first story, focusing mainly on Draco's point of view. Mentions of PP/DM, soon to be amazing HP/DM! n_n ...and I obviously do not own the characters... Rated M for future scenes!
'Things weren't always this way,' Draco thought to himself, a shoe soaring past his face, nearly hitting him.
'When did we grow so apart?'
~*'Separate Places : Similar Faces'*~
Intro.
Seven feet away from him, a distraught Pansy Parkinson sat, disheveled, tearing through their things. This had become the constant in Draco Malfoy's life.
"Where did you put it?" She asked sternly, digging deeper still into one of the four drawers of their bedroom dresser.
"You won't find it," Draco responded nonchalantly, his voice void of emotion. He cast his eyes downward out their tower window, the grey orbs lifeless and longing.
"UH!" Pansy shrieked, attempting to slam the bottom drawer closed, a black sock preventing it from doing so properly. "I cannot handle your tantrums any longer, Draco."
She stood, her robes flailing out beneath her, as she made her way swiftly to the door.
"GROW UP!"
And with a final bellow she slammed the door behind her, an emerald scarf falling from its resting place upon the door's backside.
'She's right, you know. You're a fool. You don't deserve her. You don't deserve anyone.'
The words filled Draco's thoughts as he sat there at the foot of his bed, his knuckles white from grasping the sheets.
Swinging himself up onto his four-post bed, into the dark abyss of onyx silk, he let out a sigh, moonlight peaking just past the hem of his window's curtain.
Staring up at the ceiling he felt a sense of loss wash over him.
"I don't know if I can keep this up," he said aloud, the atypical statement not really meant to be heard by anyone but himself.
Stretching an arm up, his hand came to rest beneath his pillow, his fingers intertwined with the hidden chain.
Slowly he dragged his hand back into the light, revealing the concealed treasure. He held it high above his head, the silver locket dancing before him in mid air.
"Specialis Revelio!"
The locket began to spin slowly, and then rapidly! Finally it opened with a cloudy "poof!"
Taking the locket into the palm of his other hand, the haze cleared.
From the outside, no one would question the apparently basic oval locket. With little embellishment, it brought no attention.
Of the inside, only two things were certain.
On the left, the letters, "D M"
...and on the right, what appeared to be a picture-less frame, replaced instead by a spinning veil of smoky uncertainty.
Draco let out another sigh.
'You deserve to be alone.'
So this is the brief intro. to my new story 'Seperate Places, Similar Faces. I promise the chapters from here on out will be much longer in length. I do not have a beta-reader, so please feel free to point out any grammatical errors.
Also, comments would be much appreciated! The moro response I get, the faster the next chapter will come out!
