Zane lay flat on his back, staring up at his ceiling with a slight scowl on his face. His parents were out of town for the weekend, so he had Riley over for a couple of nights. He was excited at the prospect of spending the night with Riley, of waking up with him in the morning. His stomach was in flutters all day at school.

As soon as they had arrived at his house, clothes were off and hours were spent exploring each other's body. They were both guys, so obviously many of those hours were dedicated to sex on pretty much every flat surface of Zane's house. Naturally, when two am came around, Zane was exhausted. He just wanted to fall into bed and sleep until noon. Fall into bed he did, but so far, it was impossible to get a wink of sleep. Riley had fallen asleep in seconds, and just a few minutes after that came the loudest and deepest snores Zane had ever heard in his life. He was almost certain that his neighbors would call the police in fear of a lose bear running around. He tried everything to block the sound; his pillow over his head, ear plugs, his finger's in his ears. But nothing even made a dent. Finally, he just hauled off and punched Riley in the shoulder to try to wake him, but all that did was cause him to turn over with a sleep-induced smile on his face, and wrap a strong arm around Zane, pulling him as close against him as possible, his mouth right against his ear. It took all the strength he had to move over on his back, but there was no hope in getting out of Riley's Hulk-like grip around him.

He really thought his ear drum was going to burst. But despite all that, he still didn't want to wake Riley up. He was so calm and peaceful (despite the racket he made) while sleeping, and it was a big change from the often tense Riley that he was while he was awake. Zane turned his head so he was looking at Riley, his scowl disappearing. He brought his hand over, running a finger across his bottom lip, up that beautiful, chiseled jaw bone, and back down to his neck where his hand finally stopped. He smiled softly, the snores becoming more bearable until a sudden extra strong and extra loud one practically made him piss himself.

Sighing, he flopped back down on his back, running a hand over his face. That was when he remembered the nasal strips he had in his bedside drawer he used whenever he had a sinus infection. Opening his eyes and sitting up as best as he could with Riley's arm still clinging to him, he stretched his body and reached over to open his drawer. He could just reach inside, and it took several moments to finally locate the box hidden under several sheets of paper and a variety of other random things he kept in there. Praying that it would work, he opened the box and pulled out a strip, tossing the box to the side and hearing the soft thump of it falling onto his bedroom carpet. He peeled the paper cover away and the pieces covering the sticky adhesive and turned back toward Riley. He wasn't worried about waking him. Clearly he could sleep through a freaking Nuclear War. So he leaned forward, making sure the strip was even, and pressed it down against his nose. He pulled away. Several seconds of silence went by as Zane's heart pounded. Please work, please work, please work, he thought to himself.

Then suddenly, Riley took a deep breath, a deep, quiet breath. Smiling triumphantly, Zane lay back down. Riley made slight smacking sounds with his lips and nuzzled his face further into the crook of Zane's neck. Zane reached a hand up, running it through the mop of thick, sandy curls before resting on the back of his head. Finally, sleep came.
