A/N: I know a lot of you people don't like Adam, but you gotta feel sympathy for the poor kid I mean he's still in hell and we just saw what Sam's hell was….he's burning and he's got no one to save him.
It was a few days after Sam had gotten his soul back, after the case with the dragons and the mother rising and still they were at Bobby's with nothing. Dean sat nursing a beer before Sam joined him.
"Can I ask you something?" asks Sam.
"Sure shoot," says Dean.
"What about Adam?" asks Sam.
Dean snaps his head up. You can only save one of your brothers. That ate at him, he didn't know Adam from a stranger but still it was his brother.
"What about him?" asks Dean.
"He fell into the pit too-
"Sammy don't-
"I'm just remembering the day," says Sam, "he and Michael they fell into the pit right?"
"Yeah," says Dean.
"Is he back too? Did Crowley save him?" asks Sam his eyes looking up at Dean.
He prayed Dean would say yes, that their younger brother wasn't still rotting away in hell. He knew deep down he probably was, because knowing Dean Adam wouldn't be out of his sight.
"No," says Dean.
Dean didn't look at his brother, he hadn't really thought about Adam his main concern was getting his brother's soul back.
"Oh," says Sam, "are we gonna try-
"Sam I have no idea how or if it's worth saving him," says Dean.
"How can you say that?" asks Sam, "he's our brother-
"Don't you think I know that?" asks Dean, "and I feel horrible…..the poor kid all he ever did was be born into a battle he never deserved to be in,"
"Maybe Cas-
"I don't think Cas can do it," says Dean, "and even if we do save him….he's not gonna be Adam you've got the great wall of Sam in your head….Adam there's no guarantee we can get him a copy of the great wall of Sam,"
"But Dean we still gotta try," says Sam, "I know we didn't know him….but its eating at me that we're doing nothing-
"Don't you think it's eating at me too?" asks Dean, "I watched both of you fall into that black hole…Adam he was only nineteen nobody should die at nineteen,"
"I agree," says Sam, "but are we gonna stick our heads in the sand and pretend our brother's not locked-
"Sam we've got the "mother" out and about….and a million other things-
"But we've got to try," says Sam, "if there's anyway we can save him we have to do it,"
"And we will Sam," says Dean, "I think he would have made a good edition to the family,"
"That's surprising," says Sam.
"Why do you say that?" asks Dean.
"I dunno the first time-
"The first time we met Adam was a ghoul he wasn't Adam," says Dean, "and the next time I didn't really have time to actually get to meet him,"
"He reminds me of you," says Sam, "same sarcastic give-it-hell attitude…..and he grew up too fast like you,"
"What do you mean like me?" asks Dean.
"Adam told me it was him alone at night making his own meals and putting himself to bed," says Sam, "don't get me wrong Dean we had it pretty bad…...but we had each other he was alone,"
"That's horrible," says Dean.
"I wish Dad would have at least let us know about his existence not take him on the road but just warn us to look out for him," says Sam.
"I wish Dad did too Sammy," says Dean.
