"Kiku, you eat so slow, aru. What's wrong?" China asked,
"Nothing's wrong, Yao. I'm just . . . confused" Kiku replied, slipping sushi into his mouth and chewing it slowly,
"Something must be wrong if you look like that, aru. Really Kiku you can tell me" China looked at Japan, who sighed and put down the plate of sushi,
"I'll tell you later, Yao" Japan sighed again, China turned around to see the door of the kitchen fling open. Taiwan walked in with her, Korea's and Hong Kong's plates stacked up in her arms; she looked at China and said,
"Good afternoon, Yao-sama" she greeted and China grinned back, "Good afternoon, Kiku-sama" she smiled again, reluctantly Japan looked up and greeted the woman,
"Good afternoon, Meimei" Japan replied,
"Are you two done?" Taiwan asked as she put the plates down to wash,
"Yes, aru" China replied, he put a hand on Japans shoulder and nodded as he left the kitchen,
"Kiku, are you done?" Taiwan asked,
"Yes, may I help you wash?" Japan suggested,
"Of course you can" Taiwan smiled, she ran the hot water and started to scrub the plates, "So how are you today Kiku?" Taiwan asked as she handed a wet plate to Japan,
"Hm? Oh, I'm okay . . . I guess" his face turned down, Taiwan looked confused at him as she placed another plate on the worktop,
"What's the matter?" Taiwan asked, carrying on washing,
"Um . . . I . . ." Japan struggled, I am confused, he thought silently, "I am very confused about my feelings"
"Your feelings, what about your feelings? Would you like to talk about it?" Taiwan dried her hands and put down the cloth, the washing was done now.
Oh, Meimei. Always so polite and caring, why do you have to torture me with love? Japan thought to himself, "If you don't mind, could we talk outside?" Japan asked,
"Of course" Taiwan followed Japan outside as he led her behind the blossom tree, they both sat against the tree and talked,
"Meimei?" Japan said,
"Kiku?" Taiwan asked,
With all his courage Japan placed his hand on top of Taiwan's, making Taiwan gasp and stare at Japan with wonder. Japan leaned in close to Taiwan, she was smiling. Taiwan's hair blew over her eye; Japan brushed it away and placed his warm hand on Taiwan's cheek. She was blushing as well as smiling, and then a blossom fell on Taiwan's lap. Japan took it and placed it in Taiwan's hair, keeping it out of her eyes.
"Kiku, do you-" Taiwan was cut off as Japan leaned his head in further to hers, their lips inches from touching. Taiwan smiled again and tilted her head to one side, waiting for what was about to happen. Japan looked at her brown, dark eyes and made his lips touch hers.
It was gentle yet electric; their pulses fuming through their lips so the other could feel the heartbeat. The kiss lasted a while, but ended when Japan pulled away. Taiwan opened her eyes and stared at Japan, still blushing a pink colour,
"Kiku . . . you . . ." Taiwan was lost for words as she breathed heavily, unable to take in what had just took place. She still smiled and turned to Japan who was awaiting for a reply,
"Meimei" he said softly, "I love you" he murmured, placing his arms around Taiwan. She embraced him and leaned in close, with her head leaning against his chest which was surprisingly hard, "Are you tired?" Japan asked as he felt and small yawn in Taiwan,
"A little" Taiwan replied, Japan stroked the back of Taiwan's head and he lay down against the tree. Still letting Taiwan's head rest on his chest, Taiwan smiled and closed her eyes. Falling asleep and letting Japan still take in the fact that his feeling for Taiwan had been confessed . . .
. . . and he hadn't been rejected of those feelings.
