Of course, it was true. I had always felt something special towards him. This probably being the main reason I was always such a bitch to him. Not to mention, I didn't think I could ever come between him, Courtney, and his slipping digits. . I never took the word 'no' or any other type of rejection well. Instead, I had the tendency to just avoid it at all costs. I stayed back and never once set myself up for disappointment. So what? I had a pride problem. Who didn't in some way or another? Even if he had thrown a love-sick glance my way once or twice, I probably wouldn't have pursued anything. In fact, if he did, he wouldn't have been as appealing to me as he was.
Jan was like the ultimate dream guy. Or at least he was mine. I much rather enjoyed sitting back on the sidelines. We had stayed friends throughout the summer, and ended up at the same college. Most of the squads ended up at San Diego State. Torrance, my pain in the ass of a brother, Les, Courtney, Whitney, me and Jan. The list went on. Ok, straying off topic. Jan, dream guy, right. Ok, well he wasn't exactly a dream boat. A bit of a dork at times, but he always knew how to make me laugh.
But it was time for a change. New school, meeting new people, and of course complete with a bunch of new guys to scam on. It was a whole branch of new opportunities headed my way, and I was welcoming it with open arms.
Missy shut her journal with a loud snap and tossed it off to the side of her bed. Glancing around her slightly barren dorm room, the clock on her nightstand caught her attention. "Shit," She muttered quietly. It was just a few minute to 1:30 and she had her Psychology class precisely at that time. There was no way she would make it on time, not unless she sprinted.
Climbing off her bed, she darted towards the other side of her room and grabbed her Psych books off the chair strewn next to the door. Pausing, it only took her a second to slip into her shoes before she dashed out the door. She was going to blame Jan for being late, whether is was really his fault or not.
( My first Bring It On story. So I have an obsession with Nathan West and Eliza Dushku, it's ok. Despite the fact that I love those actors, I really did thing that Jan/Missy would be great together. I hope you enjoyed the first part, there will be more. Promise! )
