In one of the gardens of the Royal Palace of Corus two figures could be seen walking. If you stood close enough you could even be able to hear the words they spoke.
"I wonder what it's like in the peaceful realms." Dom mentioned casually as he and Kel ducked under a low-lying branch of an oak tree.
"Whoever said they were peaceful?" Replied Kel in mock outrage.
"Well, what else would they be?"
"But do the have to be peaceful, I mean?"
"I think I have missed the point you're trying to make." Dom said as he used his belt knife to remove a rose from its bush as they passed it by.
"Well, when I was coming down from the Needles, the only thing that kept me going was the thought of all the things I would do to the man who designed them. And seeing as he is dead I will have to be in one of the realms to see him. So when I finally see him the realm won't be very peaceful."
"Ok, let's evaluate this conversation. So far all we have done is deduce the fact that the peaceful realms have no reason to be peaceful."
"But they have no reason not to be."
"Kel, now all you're doing is confusing me." Dom complained as he tucked the rose behind Kel's ear.
"So?" Kel couldn't help but laugh as she tugged the rose free of her hair and held it to her nose. "I guess you could compare them to a rose… everyone knows they are beautiful but it's not until someone tucks one behind your ear that you notice the thorns. Besides, what would you want the realms to be like?"
By now they had stoped walking.
"This conversation is going in circles," Dom said, turning to face Kel.
"That isn't the point. Dom, are you going to answer my question?"
"What more could you ask for than a beautiful day, out side, in spring and excellent company?"
"Whose company are you suggesting is excellent dear Domintan, yours or mine?" Kel replied with a little smile.
"Yours of cause my lady," Dom said as he bowed, catching Kel's hand.
"I'm no lady, but if what you said before is true, we could be in one of the realms of the Black God without even knowing it! This could be it." Why on earth does he have to be so good at flirting, thought Kel. She also couldn't help but notice that he was staring at her as well.
"You could put it that way I suppose." When had they come so close together? Kel couldn't remember, but his breath was so warm on her cheek.
"If this is the highest point of my existence then I would ask for more." Kel muttered somewhat distractedly, Doms eyes were very bright, and from such a close position it was easy to see them sparkling.
"I wouldn't, I'd just take every good opportunity I came across… I'd just follow my heart." Dom whispered as he bent down and kissed her.
