I wrote this while half asleep but couldn't go to sleep. It is a Rue and Mint and it is a little strange.
Disclaimer: I do not own Thread of Fate even though it would be nice to.
"What are you doing here?" Mint points one of her gold rings at Rue. The two of them had just walked into a field and came face to face with each other.
"Me? I could ask you the same thing." Rue sighs putting his Arc Edge on the ground sitting down next to it. She never changes.
"I asked you first." She sits down next to him.
"Well its really strange but I followed a light her." He looks at the field looking for what ever could have made it.
"Oh…that's what brought me out here to." Mint looks out at the field and then at him. "This sounds like something out of a story."
"It does, doesn't it." A story that would go something like this… One evening I looked up at the clear black sky and saw only one brilliant light. It was very enchanting so I followed it only to fun into an old flame of mine. Who I though I would never see again. We talked and walked and got to know accouter again. She same some of her songs to me and before I knew it I have fallen for her again. This time I did not want to lose her so before we parted ways I gathered all my courage and confessed my love for her and to my surprise she did not reject me. In fact she asked me why it took me so long to confess. " Rue took a deep breath and looked at Mint
"That sounds like something that would only happen in a story. If only they could happen in real life." Mint sighed looking out over the field they where sitting in.
"If it was to happen to you mint who would you want it to happen with." Rue asked not sure he wanted to hear her answer.
"Oh I don't know" She rested her chin on her hand. "I've spent all my time looking of a relic that I never had time for love. It's kind of sad really. I mean Belle had Duke, and Elena has your new friend, and you have Claire, but me I'm all alone with my dream of world domination." She didn't put her normal enthusiasm into her words as she talked. "I am pathetic aren't I?"
Rue places a hand on her cheek. "Mint your not pathetic and Claire and me are not an item. Claire is like a sister to me and nothing more." Mint looks at Rue as he talks. "Mint have you ever been in love?" He lightly rubs her cheek.
Mint leans into his hand. If it had been anyone else she would have been Yelling at them and throwing magic at them like there was no tomorrow, but it was Rue. "well…." She lightly blushed "yes I have and I still am…"
"Who?" Rue let his hopes rise a little.
Mint looked away blushing brighter. "You." She whispered then got up and ran away.
Rue blinked not having expected her to run away after she answered, but it didn't take him long to recover before he got up and ran after her. "Mint Wait." She shakes her head and kept running, till Rue catches up and grabs her hand to bring her to a stop. "Mint please wait." Mint stops but doesn't look at Rue. "Mint…" Rue spins her around and hugs her. "You of all people should know it's not polite to run of in the middle of a conversation especially when the person your talking to feels the same way about you." He lightly strokes her head as he talks. "I love you Mint"
Mint blinks taking a minute to understand what Rue was saying. "Rue do you mean that?" She looks up, getting lost in his eyes. Rue smiles light and leans down a places a quick kiss on her lips. "Ever word Mint"
Mint examined Rue's face for any signs that he was joking but found none. She wraps her arms around his next. "I love you to Rue." Rue pulls Mint close as he kisses her again this time a longer more passionate kiss.
