Oh yeah-before I forget-what is this c2 communities thing?!

It was late one night, and the common room was empty, save for Hermione and Harry. They were anxiously awaiting upon the arrival of Ron, who had oddly enough not yet returned to the tower, though it was well past midnight.

"We've got to go look for him!" Harry shouted, as he paced backwards and forwards across the length of the room. "He could have been attacked or something!"

Hermione sighed. "Harry, do you always have to be so melodramatic?"

"You don't understand!" Harry yelled. "If you had had your parents and godfather killed-"

"But I don't have a godfather..."

Harry gave her a look for this remark. "And if you had been given a prophecy saying that you had to kill some snake dude-"

"Ron!" Hermione yelled, spotting him as he entered through the porthole. "Where were you? And..." she caught sight of something under his arm. "Is that what I think it is?"

He couldn't look her in the eye. "Yes," he whispered. "It is."

"Will someone tell me what the hell is going on in here?" Harry shouted. As usual, he was the last to catch on.

Silently Ron pulled out the thing and held it under the light so that the gold letters imprinted upon it sparkled and glittered. Harry leant forward to see what they spelt, and jumped back in shock when he saw.

Hogwarts: A History

"No!" Harry exclaimed. "It can't be true!"

Tears were running down Ron's face now. "It's true," he sobbed. "Every night, when everyone's gone to bed...I've cast an invisibility spell over myself and crept into the library..."

"How-how long has this been going on for?" Hermione stuttered.

"A couple of months now..." Ron whispered.

Harry bit his lip to stop himself from screaming out loud. Out of all the things that had happened to him in his life...nothing could compare to this...he had never felt as much pain and heartache as he did now...

"How did this happen?" Harry whispered.

Ron bit his lip and stared at the ceiling as he spoke. "It was late one night. You guys had gone to sleep, but I wasn't feeling tired. I'd stayed here in the common room, jut sitting by the fire, not really doing much. Then I saw it sitting there, abandoned on a nearby table. Overcome with curiosity, I decided to take a peep."

Harry could not hold it in any longer. "How the hell could you do such a thing?!"

Ron was on the verge of tears now. "I didn't expect to enjoy it! I just wanted to have a look! How was I to know that it would be such an interesting book?"

Hermione looked really excited now. "I told you!"

"Harry, listen, please," Ron begged. "You've got to forgive me. You have to understand. I didn't want this to happen. You've got to believe me!" He grabbed hold of Harry's arm, who pulled away from him instantly.

"I've got nothing to say to you," he said in a cold voice. "You know what I've been through, yet you still betrayed me. How can you expect me to forgive you?"

And with that, he left the room, leaving Ron standing in the middle of the room, his face swimming with tears, looking pitiful as he still held on to his beloved book which had cost him one of his dearest friends.
