Tom's soul waited for years…his soul maybe torn and broken but this piece was of a seventeen-year-old boy…He can never love but he can fixate and obsess.

Ginny could not have been more surprised to find the leather-bound diary in her school things. After the sorting and feast Ginny sat in her room thinking about what she wants to write first in her new diary. Ginny sat on her bed and pulled the curtains around her and opening to the first page of the diary. As soon as Ginny wrote her name on the top page the writing disappeared and Ginny felt a tug in the pit of her stomach. Tom was ready to play.

"Hello Ginny, my name is Tom Riddle. I am here to hold all of your secrets and help you along. Tell me about yourself?" Was written neatly across the page and Ginny dropped the book off of her lap. Ginny turned the book back over and watched as the words "Sorry to frighten you" Ginny smiled thinking about what a kind gift this was from her parents.

"Hello Tom, what I write in you doesn't go anywhere?" Ginny penned as she thought about what all she could write in this book. Tom's soul smiled from inside the leather-bound book because he knew this young girl would bring him exactly what he needs. "Anything you write will forever be between the two of us. Why don't you start by telling me about yourself?" Tom wanted Ginny to uses the diary as much as possible because with every drop of ink she used he twisted himself around her mind and control her actions.

Ginny wrote for several hours that first evening talking to Tom about having six older brothers and how hard it was to be the youngest and the only girl. Ginny told Tom all about Bill working as a curse breaker at Gringotts. How amazing her brother Charlie was for working with dragons in Romania. She talked about Percy's big plans to work at the Ministry once he graduated this year. Ginny wrote about the funny pranks the twins, Fred and George played.

Tom replied kindly to the young red head not taking much interest in anything until she talked about her youngest older brother, Ron being best friends with Harry Potter. She told Tom about how they met last year and defeated the former Defense against the Dark Arts teacher. Tom smirked knowing exactly why this young girl wrote on and on about Harry Potter. The girl was fascinated by him.

Tom knew she would be the one link he would need to bring down Harry Potter. Tom could feel his hold on the girl and felt the need to give it a try. Tom used his thoughts to control his actions. He never wrote her a word but thought it is time for her to sleep. Ginny blinked and wrote I think I am going to bed now. She closed the book and fell asleep.

With every line she had written she gave him strength. Tom's soul took a deeper hold on to Ginny. He was growing stronger and in no time at all she would give her life to recreate his. Tom's shadow watched the slow even breaths that would soon stop for him. Ginny had no idea that going to sleep had not been her idea. She wouldn't even remember writing that last line.
