A/N: I got this idea as I got home from work...something just clicked. And I'm new here! Hi everyone!!! I'll try to do all the prompts, but I'm terrible at finishing stuff. Maybe this'll help.
The silence, clear as glass, after the Kyuubi attack froze Iruka as he stared at the names on the memorial stone. He jumped as an ANBU landed next to him. They said nothing—though both both wanted to—and prayed to the names of their family and friends.
Iruka's smile was as thin as glass when he first laid eyes on Kakashi, knowing that he was the jounin instructor for Team 7. He didn't approve of him, but he had no say in this. He let it go, thinking that maybe there was more to the Copy-nin that met his eye.
The rope on Iruka's temper, fragile as glass, broke without at a second thought during the chuunin nominations. He couldn't believe the nerve Hatake had. He fumed until the exams were over, he was too busy to spare Kakashi a passing thought.
Tension was visible as glass in the hospital room. Iruka chewed on his bottom lip as he watched Kakashi's chest slowly rise. He stood and bowed over the comatose nin. "I'm sorry..." he whispered as he brushed a kiss over his pale forehead.
Uneasiness grew like the spidery cracks on glass as they started on their tenth first date. Every time something went wrong, but they so desperately wanted this to work, neither believing in giving up.
The love in two hearts was as vibrant as the stained glass windows. Vows were pledged to the other and kisses were (eagerly) shared. Life was perfect.
After ten happy years together, the glass shatter. The barrier that kept Kakashi sane shattered as he let a loud sob wrack his body which sprawled over his beloved and deceased husband, a mission gone wrong.
