Katie clutched the quaffle tighter under her arm. She had no one to blame but herself for getting into this dilemma, her and her big mouth. The first time she had made this bet, she had been lucky. A gust of wind had caught Oliver's broom and she had taken the opportunity to score through the unguarded hoop.
However today, it seemed she had probably bitten off more than she could chew, saying she could do it again before the sun went down. That had been about an hour ago and she wasn't even close.
She turned towards the dying sun, admiring the golden rays which shone through her boyfriend's hair, his hazel eyes focused on her. She always loved to watch him while he was in his element.
Then she had an idea. She held the quaffle out as if to throw it and Oliver readied himself. When she was within ten feet, he came towards her and she made her move. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. His eyes widened in surprise before he wrapped his arms around her waist.
Grateful her plan didn't backfire, she threw the quaffle into the hoop behind him. She grinned as she pulled away, the pair watching the quaffle fall to the ground. "I guess I win again, Wood."
Oliver rolled his eyes. "You never play fair, Katie."
