Down on the Farm
With a sense of satisfaction, Adam proudly surveyed the farm he'd always wanted.
This is what he needed; a new start, honest work, and control over his environment and own destiny.
There was a rebellious snort from the stallion he kept fenced in the lower paddock where nothing seemed to grow. The beast was a real devil, untamable despite his best efforts.
Adam turned at the warm hand on his back, sudden nerves easing at the sight of his stable hand, best friend, and all-round right-hand man.
"Don't worry, I'll see to him."
"Thanks Michael," he smiled shyly in return.
