" Daddy, wait up !" yelled the little girl running with him.

But he couldn't wait up, they were already late. He didn't realize saying his good byes had taken so long. And now, coupled with the tenacious down pour of rain and his hunger, the proposition of having to wait for another train seemed like torture.

But they didn't have to wait, they had made it just in time. He scooped the little girl under his arm and headed into the train. They took an empty seat and waited for their next stop.

The little girl giggled as she smelled the man next to her, " Eww, you smell like wet dog Daddy."

"Oh Yeah ?" he laughed with her. " I bet you smell worse."

"Uh Uh." she said, shaking her head animatedly.

The father then took the opportunity and started tickling his daughter. The little girl erupted in laughter, her dark brown hair splashing water every where. The surrounding people could only look upon the two with fondness.

Once the father had stopped tickling and the girl had stopped laughing she collapsed onto the older man's lap. Exhausted from the previous euphoria.

Or so he thought.

Five minutes later the little girl was up again. Bouncing in her seat with a sudden jolt of energy. Not exactly able to pinpoint what would satisfy her curiosity. She settled on sniffing the air. The older man took notice and smiled proudly.

"What do you smell ?"

The little girl stopped her sniffing and turned to him. " Wet dog." she giggled.

The older man nodded and then pointed to a woman on the far end of the train. Seemingly huddled in on herself she was enveloped in a plethora of scarves, all with different scents. He asked the girl to pinpoint her exact smell.

" I can't do it," she whispered exasperatedly after several attempts. " she's too far away."

"Yes you can. Remember what they taught us."

The little one nodded with determination. Her brown eyes turned blue as she pointed her nose to the air and sniffed. When she finished she smiled, pleased with herself and said,

" She smells like vanilla and.." she scrunched up her nose and continued, "roses !" she exclaimed.

The older man smiled fondly and hugged her to himself. The little girl hugged him with just as much love and smiled contently. After spending a few more minutes like that. The little girl interrupted the silence.

"Daddy when are we gonna arrive in Beacon Hills ?"

" Soon Izzy, soon." He kissed her head before she finally fell asleep.

Not taking the reprieve for granted, he thought about what he was going to do when they arrived in Beacon Hills. He had been gone for so long-then again three years wasn't that long-right ? Yes it was, he missed so much. How had everyone grown over the three years ? Will they remember him ? How will they react to Izzy? He had so many questions he had to answer and he had so many questions he wanted to ask.

It was going to be difficult week but he was kinda of looking forward to it.

He didn't mind so much actually , or not as much as he thought he would.

I don't really anything to say, but leave a review if you do.
