America was sitting on the couch trying to work up the courage and bravery to tell England something very important.
"Arthur I need to talk to you," America said trying to work back the tears in his eyes.
"What is it Alfred? Is everything alright"? England asked America seeming very concerned.
"You see I am getting older now and I can make choices and decisions on my own now anyway what I'm trying to say is I want to be a country," America said.
England gasped, "You can't be a country your my little brother and I must look after you for our entire lives," he said handing America the toy soldier he had as a child.
"Brother do you not see how much this would mean to me I could be such a great country and it's something I really want and you want me to be happy don't you"? America said to his brother.
"Alfred stop you aren't becoming a country. You under my rule for the rest of your life do you understand"?
"No I don't understand. I will become a country whether I have to go to war with you or not," America said angrily.
"Did you say go to war"? England said.
"Yes I did and I will fight you for my freedom, to become a country," America said.
"You don't know what you are doing, but you will regret it," England said slamming the door to walk outside.
Two weeks later-
The time had come for America and England's Great War. On England's side there were thousands of armed soldiers and on America's side there was ten.
"You don't know what you are doing Alfred," England said.
At that moment they charged at each other, the rain pouring down on them.
America and England fought left and right when suddenly England pushed America to the ground and pointed his gun straight toward his heart.
"Is this what you wanted brother? Huh, is it?! Well I can assure you you're going to get what you wanted and that is your war. Say goodbye Alfred," England said as he put his finger toward the trigger getting ready to pull it back.
America closed his eyes expecting the worst to come when he heard England starting to cry.
"I can't do it, I can't shoot you, why can't I shoot you"?! England said as he dropped to his knees crying in the rain. "You can have your independence brother," England said.
America stood up and he helped England up and they gave each other a huge brotherly hug.
"Brother let's never fight again," America said.
"Never again, now enjoy your freedom brother," England said to America.
"I will," America said, "I will."
