I would like to apologise for my absence. I have had a terrible time with technology; computers crashing, being upgraded, internet connections which are wonky . . . it has been most painful. I am planning on finishing Keeping the Balance but I first need to remember where I saved the chapters I've worked on and the passwords to unlock the documents. I've decided to write this because it has been bobbing around in my head since I started writing Release and I need to get back into writing.
So, this is Chapter 1 of the sequel to The Tilt . . . although it isn't much of a chapter.
Edward stood just shy of the clearing, watching as his twin sons tackled their other father; it was a welcome sight. He took a moment to observe the shapeshifter; he looked the same as he did when they left but not that much time had really gone by, but there was a lightness to the way he carried himself, in the way he smiled and laughed, the way he interacted with the boys; he seemed carefree and Edward hoped that that would not change with the homecoming of the Cullens.
For that was what it was, them coming home; to this town, these woods, the three children within this house . . . which led to him wondering where Eva was. Then as he watched, a young woman he had never seen before, come into the room and immediately attracted the attention of the three males within the room. His heart clenched when he saw the look of pure joy on his sons' faces as they ran towards her and wrapped their arms around her legs. Glancing at Jacob, he caught the look of utter happiness as the other man gazed at the group, before his attention was caught by something in the doorway. Turning to look himself, Edward was pleasantly surprised to see Eva standing there wearing a pink tutu, ballet shoes, her hair tied up in a bun and a pink ribbon trailing from it. She beamed at the room's occupants before taking a few steps into the room and twirling happily towards the woman, who extricated herself from the boys. Posing as a ballerina, she waited for Eva to copy her before doing a few simple steps and finishing with twin curtsies. The boys cheered and Jacob laughed whilst clapping; Edward stood enthralled, an intruder in this happy family moment; before snapping out of it and taking off into the forest, heading for his family home, the only home he now had.
Moments later, several vehicles pulled up outside Jacob Black's residence and the vampires poured out of them; an eager little girl rushing to throw the front door open.
Thank you for taking the moment to read this; it'd make more sense if you read my other stories which is the basis of this.
Review, don't review . . . it's up to you ^_^ although I'd be happy to read your thoughts.
