Gansey POV

Blue had become his whole world.

Or perhaps he was just exaggerating.

One thing was certain though, Gansey was no longer capable of forming coherent thoughts around her and her unruly hair. He was enraptured by her silent stares, her knowing smirk, the way she got a crease above her right eyebrow when she was worried.

Gansey wasn't quite sure how to explain the effect Blue had on him but there was a sense of rightness about her. She was understanding and passionate and everything that was good and pure.

He felt inconsequential next to her and knew, he just knew that this girl could step on him and pulverize him.
Not that he wanted to put it to the test.

Now that Adam had gone and offered himself as sacrifice for whatever unfathomable reason -scratch that, Gansey knew all about his reasons, he was just indulging in the bliss of oblivion- Blue seemed to only wear that worried face with the crease above her brow.

He was torn.

He was very much torn.

He related to Blue's worry, but the idea that Blue was worried over Adam instilled a pang of jealousy into Gansey's very core.
He felt like a shit friend.

Blue POV

Blue had made herself a promise, and she was going to do whatever it took to keep it, even if it meant screwing her own feelings over. She had promised she wouldn't be the one to kill Gansey, whether intentionally or accidentally, his life had turned into something insurmountable to her.

She was not quite sure when it happened, all she knew was that there came a wave of sudden realization that she was very possibly desperately in complete and utter love with Gansey. The truth of the matter though, was that her love for him did not fill her with euphoria, it made her very much want to rip all the clutter off her walls and throw herself against them until she couldn't remember who he was or who she was or who Adam was.

Adam.

He had been so kind to her and she had found herself deeply comfortable around him, before he became bitter, resentful, and sullen. The night they had awoken the ley lines at Cabeswater, something palpable had occurred to Adam, and to the rest of them as well. There was a renewed sense of purpose amongst the five of them, and also an awkwardness mingling in the air like smoke collecting above a house during a fire when Adam was near. All she knew what to do when he was near was gawk at the noticeable changes occuring to the boy she once felt so attached to, maybe even imagined in her future. Out of all of them, Gansey was the only one putting effort into assuming things were normal.

Gansey.

It had been a successful thirty seven seconds in which his name filled with the image of him with his fancy watch and fetching smile hadn't crossed her mind. Argh.
