Time Pulls a Mean Reach-Around
A/N: Just a little drabble I came up with during our last boring days before summer break. :3
Time scares her, just a little. After everything that has happened, one might think that this is understandably so. As stable as she is compared to her comrades, she only achieves such serenity through the void and bareness she alone seems able to find. She considers the extreme emptiness much fuller than most think. She even rejoices in it somewhat. However, when pulled into extreme fullness where it's not just space, but also sound and smell cluttering the air, she is considered helpless. That's why time scares her. Everything that occurs plus the already full nothing is too much to think about. She shuts down.
To not think about it, she drinks. She knows that's only a small distraction, but anything is better than remembering that she was completely alone with her artificial void. Relief of knowing and pain from emotion are just more reasons not to want to remember. She can only hope her "daughter's" mind will be more level than hers ever was, what with her psychological books and the like.
At the time that fire rained down on her home, she knew that all would be well as long as she stayed out of the way. She would be fine. They both would be just fine. She had to trust in her "daughter's" words and reassurance. It was all part of the process of tying the bow on the game for good.
Going through two games is hard, but necessary. The time loops must be appeased. In this world, there are no beverages to help her forget, so she has to think. It melts her brains, but she remembers. She remembers her "daughter's" warning and her friend's "son's" rebuffle. What had it all meant? She has been through the same hardships as her "daughter", maybe even more so. Surely her mother would have done everything to prevent whatever trouble she may have foreseen. Forever to be intertwined, she knows that no matter how 'bad' her relationship with her seemed to be, in the core there was love. Always.
In game, she hasn't been able to catch up with any of her own friends. She would give anything to, but she knows there is no one to receive such an offering. Wandering aimlessly, she knows that whatever future may lay ahead for her "daughter" will be of no fruit to her. She smiles and spins about on the blood splattered checkerboard. A gentle call along the wind and she quickly turns toward it. A simple man with a clean-shaven face is just a bit closer to the castle than she is. She smiles and smoothly walks to him and gently pulls on his hand toward the castle.
He is a classy and charming man. Simple, but still intricate he is and she loves that about him. For him, she has thrown every precaution she has ever been told to the wind, letting his son play with it as children are prone to do. They raid the already forsaken castle and go to the roof with their dinner. She goes through dinner with a sense of fake formality while he is genuine in every little gesture he makes. It's also so surreal for her, maybe for him as well.
They clink their glasses together and share wistful glances. If only they were young again.
Then maybe somethings wouldn't have to end.
A/N: Hey, can anyone whoop for my first Homestuck fanfiction? Just me? Okay. =3= But anyway! Do you guys like it? Some of it is just theory of course, but you all know how that is I'm sure ;3 I dunno, I just hated how there's barely anything for Mom L. There isn't even a choice for her in the character listings on this site! Why? Why does no one like her? Am I just missing something or what? ;3;
*sad love*
