Heero hung his head in respect as the minister began to speak slowly.
"We are gathered here to remember a good and brave man... a fine friend and a wonderful life-mate," Heero turned his head towards his friends, the people he'd come to know as family. Wufei wrapped his arm around sally's waist as a tear slowly ran down her cheek. It was only a year ago that Duo was walking Sally down the aisle, and only days ago Duo had been helping them pick out baby names. He slowly turned his head to Quatre and Trowa and the tiny blond headed bundle in Quatre's arms. Heero couldn't help but imaging what his and Duo's baby would look like, those violet eyes always looking back at him, suddenly he was snapped back to reality by the cold rain hitting his face.
"Mister Maxwell would you like to say a few words?" The minister asked softly.
"Yes, I would," Heero spoke up.
"Heero, it's okay, you don't have to," Quatre stated softly.
"No I have to, it's okay," Heero tried his best to smile, but he knew he couldn't hide how he felt about today from his blonde headed friend.
"Duo was, and still is, the love of my life," Heero took a deep breath. "He spent these past 4 years since the war ended trying to make this world a better place by starting an orphanage and becoming a mentor... he'll be missed, especially by me... Duo, I love you, and I swear I'll repay you for everything you've done for me...this isn't goodbye Koi... I haven't even begun yet..." Heero stated taking a deep breath in and lifting the red rose to his nose. "It's not over yet... not by a long shot..." he murmered. "Ryokai..." He gently tossed the rose into the grave and onto the wet chestnut colored casket.
