…Or yet another uncreative title. Oh well.
Here goes my first terrible Garden Gray The fanfic featuring Eticalb. Based on an OTP prompt. There can be some grammar mistakes but I hope they won't be too much of a bother. And if you see phrases like "little girl", don't be surprised. This is how I call and will always call fem!Kcalb. I blame you, Yosaf. I think I got a little carried away there…
If you like it somehow, please, fave or leave a comment. I will greatly appreciate it.
Okay, here goes nothing!
"Have you seen Etihw, by any chance?"
After receiving a negative answer from her sister, the white-haired Devil kept on going. Wodahs was the fifth one in the castle whom she had asked. Before that she tried to find out the God's whereabouts from Alela Grora and several of the castle's angel workers. And every time the response wasthe same.
Kcalb was starting to get sad and furious at the same time. There has been no sign of Etihw for the whole day, starting from breakfast. Disappearance of the black-haired God for such a long time was a rare occurrence, and she couldn't let that fact slip by. Especially since they weren't in any of the Gray Garden creator's favorite places – neither in the Gray Village with Yosafire and his friends, at the beach, admiring the coastal waves, nor even in the Blancblack Castle's garden. The castle itself is a separate topic. It's so huge that one could spend an entire day searching for something in it and still find nothing.
Heels of her boots clattering against the corridor's floor, little girl was once again impressed by the building's enormous size. Etihw truly did their best that day. Speaking of them, it has only now dawned on Kcalb that if she were to find them today, she would have to explain her concern somehow. Alas, given her, shall we say, not so good social skills and outrageous shyness, this task was becoming practically impossible, and knowing what kind of person the God was, everything would yet again end with her running away into her room as fast as she could just so that torture would be over. A frown instantly formed on the petite Devil's face as she balled her fists in anger. Even when they weren't near her, that damn God still managed to get on her nerves!
'Hmph! Stupid Eti!'
Quickening the pace without realizing it, Kcalb passed by another row of doors she no longer cared about. And she would've passed the entire floor right up to the staircase like that if she hadn't caught sight of a library door just in time, though the long-horned girl remembered about it completely only after passing a couple more feet, so she had to go back. White eyes briefly glanced at the gray entrance with a dark diamond ornament. Etihw could very likely be there, reading some book or watching clouds in the sky. There wasn't anything particularly scary about it, like, she only came here to read, nothing more. At the worst, she could say that Alela wanted to talk to them. That always worked.
Very carefully, so the door wouldn't treacherously creak, the snow-white beauty pushed the tall door open.
To her surprise, the black-haired God really was there. But she calmed down a bit upon realizing that they have yet again fallen asleep in the middle of the day. Sometimes it seemed to her that they could easily spend an entire day sleeping if they had a chance. Their raven black head with white decorative diamonds was quietly resting on their forearms, underneath which was a book open somewhere in the middle.
Not wanting to wake them up – as Kcalb told herself, that would be best – the Devil approached the table, giving in to temptation of finding out what that book was about. Figuring that out from two pages half-obscured by arms was difficult but one could suggest it was about old legends. Now that wasn't literature Etihw chose often. And since we started talking about rare occurrences, one of them, which, by the way, the long-haired girl took notice of only after approaching the aforementioned table, was absence of their favorite gray hoodie. But frankly speaking, that mystery was quickly solved as well. It was right near them, hanging on a corner of the chair.
By now, Kcalb could've simply left the library, especially since she decided to reread one of the books from a bookcase in her room, but the sight of a peacefully sleeping God made her stay there for a little more than she would dare to admit. They were so… calm. Little girl had to admit – it was pretty nice to be around them when they weren't trying to tease her with their arsenal of stupid, and sometimes even vulgar, jokes. Besides, they looked much better without that hoodie, just in a shirt and a vest. Why do they wear it, anyway? It only ruins the look…
As soon as the poor thing caught up with her thoughts, a bright blush spread all across her cheeks. It wasn't easy for her to admit that, no matter how annoying Etihw was, they still were very dear to her and she actually really liked them, and it was hard for her to admit it not so much to the raven-haired God as to herself. And she would truly do something nice to them, like they occasionally did to her, even with the not so nice consequences, but alas, her self-confidence was quite low. Although, no one's around, nobody's looking… Maybe it was worth to try..? No, not really. They'll figure out who did this in an instant. And then will tease her about it. But they're asleep… They probably won't notice, right?.. What to do…
'….Dummy.'
Finally deciding this couldn't get any worse, the white-haired Devil took the hoodie from the chair and carefully put it on Etihw's shoulders. A cute little token of appreciation. And in Kcalb's view, for now it was more than enough. Careful not to clatter too loudly against the floor, the petite little girl exited the library to spend the oncoming evening in peace and quiet of her room.
