Enjoy this drabble! Written for the LUDO Board Game competition.
Luna tugged at her mothers pink, flowy sundress, pouting slightly.
"I am only going to Gringotts Luna," Pandora Lovegood tried to reason with her daughter, but Luna was taking none of it. Last time her mother soothed her with that excuse, she was gone for two days. She came back with twigs with her hair, exclaiming that she almost caught a Vinewood pixie. Luna wanted her mother safe at home, it was going to be her father's birthday tomorrow and she wanted to plan a surprise with her mother for him.
"No your not. You left you key!" Luna exclaimed jumping up and down.
Pandora sighed, lifting the young girl off the grassy garden, and on to her hip. The summer sunlight seemed to make her mothers eyes sparkle in a mystical kind of way. Her straw blonde hair, seemed to sway with the wind, her small smile the epitome of warmth.
"Okay, you got me. I was actually going to pop down to the muggle shops."
"The muggle shops? Aren't they dangerous." Luna asked, one eyebrow up in curiosity. The thought of muggles being 'dangerous' was so strange it made Pandora chuckle loudly.
"Of course they aren't honey. Who told you that?"
"Daddy. He said that they used to do nasty things to people like us." Pandora's smile turned into a frown.
"You know what, change of plan." She said lowering herself and her daughter back on to the grass. "I think it's time to tell you about muggles."
"I already know about muggles! They are non magical people, they really like coffee and they don't know about magic!" Luna said loudly, ticking off the reasons with her small fingers.
"Well they will find out soon if you keep shouting like that!" Pandora joked, getting a black leather notebook out of her bag. She flipped through the pages quickly, eyebrows furrowed, but Luna knew she was reading every single word. "Aha!" her mother said, a smile creeping on her face.
"Is it story time again, mommy!" Luna said, making herself comfortable on the summer grass.
"Yes, yes. Now, listen up Luna, this story is a very important one. This is a story about Aiden Willowfield. And he was a muggle and also my first love."
