The Passion of Pain

A Gary Oak Fan-fiction

Chapter 1 – A fresh start.

The soft call of a Pidgey outside his window caused him to stir from his sleep. He lifted himself to a sitting position and blew a long lock of straight brown hair out of his eye with an upturned lip. Rubbing his eyes he turned and looked at a mass of red hair that belonged to meaningless brood that had held his entertainment the previous night. Another night another woman, he thought to himself and slid from under the sheets careful not to disturb the morning peace. Entering the bathroom he rinsed his face under the cold water and studied his appearance in the mirror.

His hair still grew in unmanageable spiked lochs as it did eleven years ago at the beginning of his Pokemon journey and his eyes where still the same dark shade but his looks had matured into the rugged handsomeness of the adult male that he had become. He ran a hand down his face and along his chest. His skin was nicely tanned and he had a tight six-pack and a bare chest. He looked like a male model, with his slim body and good looks. But he was just a Pokemon Researcher, just like his Grandfather before him.

He heard the noise of feet hitting the wooden floor in the other room. His whore had awoken. Gary smirked to himself, he was proud of his player ways, always being able to bed the best and hottest women. Love them and leave them was his motto and he could not imagine settling down.

"Eve," A little voice came from the doorway, Gary turned and looked down at his Pokemon companion and friend, Eevee. He picked the Eevee up and cradled it in his arms.

"How are you, little buddy?" he cooed softly, Eevee licked the tip of Gary's nose and jumped from his arms.

"I guess you are hungry then?"

"Ee-vee," Eevee agreed and Gary chuckled,

"Okay, give me a moment to get dressed."

Eevee gave him a round eyed look and left the en-suite, leaving Gary alone with his reflection again, sighing to himself he walked to the shower and turned the hot water on, removing his pants he stepped into the warm water and let it devour him.

The sun was rising over the misty hills in which Gary lived. He had started up a laboratory as his Grandfather had done, but he had specifically chosen the mountains as a way to study different Pokemon and how they adapted to that particular environment. It was a rewarding job but Gary still had an itch for adventure that had remained since his training days.

"Blast!" A large, blue, turtle-like Pokemon greeted him as he made his morning inspection of the grounds.

"Hey, Blastoise," Gary replied, reaching a hand to its shell and stroked it.

"You like it here, don't you?" Gary said in a soft voice, talking more to him self then asking for an answer. He had watched as his Blastoise thrived in the mountainous conditions and he was glad that the Pokemon was happy. He and Blastoise had been together from the very start of Gary's Pokemon journey when he had received it as a Squirtle from Professor Oak as his first Pokemon. They had always been together since that moment, and Blastoise was one of Gary's most relied on Pokemon, other than his eevee of course.

The rustle of wings overhead made Gary jerk his head skywards and watch a large Fearow swoop down over the water, its claws hit the water, splashing it around its body. With another powerful flap of its long wings, the Fearow thrust itself back into the air, gripped in its claws was it's prize, fish for breakfast.

"Gary!" A whinny female voice called across the morning calm, Gary frowned and turned to face where the red-headed woman, from his bed that morning, stood leaning against the doorframe in a short dressing grown that barely covered the top of her thighs.

"What?"Gary grunted and stomped towards her.

"I thought you would make me breakfast," She smiled and tried to stroke his chest with her long fingers as he walked past her.

Gary snorted in disgust, "Well you thought wrong, babe, get dressed and get out of my house." Gary had a hatred of women who disturbed him while he was tending to his Pokemon. If they were to disturb him while he was undertaking the task which he loved, he treated them with the utmost contempt, throwing them from his house without a care or a second thought. But that was what he got with his lifestyle that he had chosen. Beautiful women that put out like demons but didn't have to brain cells to rub together. He felt his peaceful mood that he had experienced while out with his Pokemon slip away instantly. Glaring with anger he watched as the woman packed her bag and stormed her way through the front door, slamming it shut so hard that the window pane beside the door shuddered violently. Gary felt a smile play at his lips; he loved getting the better of woman, watching them humiliated and angry. He loved to dominate them. She had been a good sport last night, but she would not do for the coming nights activities.

"EE-VEE!" Eevee chattered angrily at Gary's feet, Eevee went with Gary everywhere, much like Pikachu was to Ash. Eevee never stayed inside its Pokeball, much preferring to ride on Gary's shoulder or to walk at his feet.

"Sorry, I believe you want your breakfast," He grinned at Eevee who had started to stalk towards the kitchen; its thick bushy tail stuck up in the air in what Gary assumed was a displeased manor.

The television in the next room was showing the fifth round of the Sinnoh Pokemon league live. Gary was watching it half-heartedly. He had much more interest in the local Kanto league as it provided him with a lot more research material. He was yet to move onto the Pokemon of the other regions, but he wanted to learn all there was to learn about Kanto first. Lounging back in his sofa with Eevee curled up in his lap he took a sip of his bourbon and cola and glance lazily at the widescreen plasma TV in front of him.

"Up next is Ash Ketchum from the town of Pallet who has taken the Sinnoh league by storm. Up next he is against Jasmine from twinleaf town. Watch it live on PSPN next up at 11 o'clock."

Gary shot up so fast that Eevee was thrown unceremoniously from his lap. Growling disgustedly at him, it leapt back onto the sofa and curled up at the opposite end as far from Gary as it could go. Gary blinked and stared at the black haired man that had just appeared on the screen. Like himself, Ash had grown considerably. His black hair was longer now, past his shoulders in thick bangs that also fell into his golden eyes. His face had also matured into an elegant handsomeness that was enhanced by his hair. His Pikachu still rode at his master's shoulder and did not look much different. Ash had changed a lot, but he had had to expect that, eleven years was a long time.

A spark jolted in Gary's stomach as he watched the television, now with his complete and undivided attention. Watching as the trainers pitted their Pokemon against each other in a show of skill and the time they had invested into their Pokemon. Desire welled in Gary's chest. A desire to be back out there, training his Pokemon in battle, fighting for the right to be in the league, winning badges. The spark had now turned into a burning flame. A flame that could not be snuffed out by any means.

He would battle again, he would start at the start and re-challenge all the Gyms of the Kanto region, make his way through the Pokemon league and the Elite four to be crowned the Kanto Pokemon Master.

He got to his feet and clenched his fists in anticipation and excitement. He could feel the need for adventure running through his veins. His sister could always look after the lab while he was away. He felt a smile burst to his lips.

"Come on Eevee, get ready, we are going to hit the road."
