She had thought it, prayed it, wept it, but never said it. Silently she repeated it over and over as she continued to gather up the ashes, gather up all that was left of her life.
"Don't leave me"
She had begged this also, over and over, without saying a word. Words were useless now. Everything was useless now.
He was gone.
